No useful written information
For example about maintenance (eg oiling tyre pressure, immobilising, hand brakes
Only written information I have received is the User’s Manual YL81F which appears to have been transliterated from Mandarin. For example it talks about a throttle which doesn’t exist in any way as on my several cars motorbike or garden machinery
The delivery man was helpful but aged 82 I cannot retain much rapidly delivered verbal information
Please put all instructions into plaini written English

"A New Travel Companion "
We were helped in making our choice of a trike by the online videos and by telephone conversations with our contact Steven at Alpine Bikes. This was important because my son and I live in Edinburgh and decided to buy the cycle without seeing it or having a test ride. The delivery was arranged with a local company in Leicester and the trike was sent promptly and safely.
The Commando Electric Mountain Trike has so far proved to be an excellent choice. As the main (elderly) user, I have been able to enjoy learning the basics of trike riding and the freedom it brings. The trike is very stable and has sensitive and accurate steering. Steven has helped via the telephone when little problems have arisen, such as the gears not changing perfectly smoothly, and he was able to send us a video on adjusting them. The trike feels very robust, the power assistance is a huge help and is easily adjusted and accessed through the pedals.
A follow up telephone discussion has been offered to iron out any problems we encounter as a result of the different riding style required by trikes as compared with bicycles.
As a “mature” user of this new tricycle, one thing that would have benefited me greatly would have been a more comprehensive user guide in the form of a PDF or good old fashioned manual. The support provided by the team has been excellent but for me, it would have been a nice to have.

"I have already reviewed the service and…"
I have already reviewed the service and customer care of Alpine Bikes which have been exemplary.
I bought a Commando trike from Alpine Bikes and it has performed perfectly so far. There was one small adjustment that needed to be made but Steve was on it very quickly and sent me perfect instructions to be able rectify the issue.
These are cracking little electric trikes that can cope with most terrains.
Comfortable upright ride always feeling in total control. I would recommend these to anybody even if you haven’t ridden a bike before.

"Not worth the money. Very poor after salrs"
We purchased the tricycle several years ago when priced at £1,500. At first it was good better Jorvic folding tricycle. However, as with many reviews the after sales is terrible.
The tricycle has done 1,600 miles but after about 300 the device that locks and unlocks the swivel frames snapped. It was an ordinary gear changer. It needed to be metal. It took over six months to get a replacement. We used a small molgrip.
It broke again this time the wire to the release bolt. The bolt was lost.
The cheap wire basket rusted and several of the wires broke. It always rattled from day one.
The free rear wheel buckled, several broken spokes. It is an ordinary front wheel so easily replaced for £44.
I see that today's price is £2,749. Astronomical! Not worth the money.
We went back to two wheels and went to the Netherlands to seek advice and buy from there. They are the experts.

"Exploring the 'Alpine Explorer Trike' by Robin in Suffolk"
It's a very good idea and service to offer customers the choice of seeing and trying before they buy. The company bring the bikes to you. There is a small cost naturally but reasonable considering that e bikes are expensive and mistakes even more so.Steve arrived at mine, when he said he would, in Suffolk with two choices of e trikes. I opted for the explorer which felt strange but Steve was patient guiding me towards triking mode. I couldn't fault him and he explained all the potential difficulties or hazards that might / could happen. He had me going around the neighbourhood running along beside me. I have had it a couple of weeks now and still don't feel completely at ease and this is due to a completely different way of operating the power as opposed to my previous experience with e bikes which power up in accordance with pedal pressure etc. These trikes literally take off and race to the max speed per power level. The lowest being 6 mph which is fast if turning a right angle corner. It's a question of getting used to the combinations of power, throttle and pedals and forgetting old habits! They are super trikes, stable, well made, well equipped and comfortable. One negative is that the manual is not very thorough, More details like tyre pressure, brake system or little things like bulbs, adjustments here and there etc. Alpine with Steve at the helm (handlebars) take some beating, definitely recommended. "Steve gave me everything I needed to…"
Steve gave me everything I needed to get the right trike for me and to be comfortable in using it. He arrived on time, brought three trikes for me to try, and made sure I could handle it on my own! (I'm 92). And it is a really robust machine which promises a lot of fun as the season improves!

"The best thing for me"
The best thing for me was the fact that Alpine Bikes delivered my tricycle in their own van, fully assembled, and then the delivery driver stayed to instruct me in the use of the trike. He ran alongside me during the test cycle too!

"Second Review"
Dear Alpine
I've already submitted a review . Anyway, has I said before ( great service , delivered, spot on time and Steve was great 👍 showing me the works ). However, there was no bell and I requested the tyre pressures and serial number. Overall the Explorer is a fantastic ride . Thank you.
