This is a scam warning , they sold my privately owned cask of whiskey and won’t give me the money, they have taken ownership and will not respond to calls or texts. I am involving the police as this is not just fraud it is now theft.

Avoid at all costs.

Given the recent documentary on the BBC I, like many, had significant concern regarding my investment in cask whisky. I contacted Braeburn (who are NOT featured in the documentary) initially via phone and the office manager answered the phone and passed me to my portfolio manager. From the outset they took ownership of my concerns.
Over the past 2 weeks we have been in contact with our portfolio manager who has reassured us and has provided every document (e.g., copy of contract, receipt of payment and the delivery order documentation) we requested and we are grateful to Braeburn for this.
Naturally this has taken Braeburn some time because of the concerns the documentary brought to light about others in the business (NOT Braeburn) has resulted in a flurry of requests and, it seems, it takes time to get information (via Braeburn) back from the distilleries.
My recommendation is to set realistic expectations in your exchange with Braeburn and in doing so I am sure you will get information on your cask and investment....it simply takes a little bit of time.

"Scam alert"

Scam alert. I bought whisky through Braeburn and sister company Cask88 in 2020. I sold some of the holding early 2024 but am still awaiting payment. Was the sale and whisky actually real - who knows? Contacts persistently fobbed me off promising me action but getting nothing done. Difficulties in getting regauges and cask transfers raise concerns over existence of casks. Even worse experience at Cask88. Be warned.

"Improving trust and integrity"

I recently had reason to check with friends who have invested at scale with Braeburn to find that they could not locate casks or even confirm if casks were owned.
As a consequence of that and the recent BBC TV examination of potential fraud in whisky cask investments I undertook action to verify my cask ownership and location.
That provoked an anxious response from Braeburn. I asked for a number of verification evidence elements from them. The good news is ,to date they have provided email versions of what was asked for, including arrangement of a visit to the bond to verify the existence of the cask.
I suspect the underlying issue on lack of clarity is their administration and record keeping.
Once I have touched the cask and been in the bond my rating will improve.
In the meantime they have made efforts to address concerns.

"Hopefully things will Improve"

I purchased a cask of Whiskey in 2022. I was considering purchasing some further casks and some family members also commented how they might be interested. In order to fully asses the process, I decided to see how the selling process went. I asked for Re-Gauge of my whiskey cask in August 2024.
I was told that they where moving the casks and that this couldn't be done at the time. They said everything would be done by February. On contacting them I've been told that this still can't be done, and with no actual time frame as to when it will be completed.
Starting to get really worried. Hopefully I'll be able to update with a positive outcome.
P.S Obviously not buying any further casks and family have definitely cooled off.
