"Worst experience of my life"
I could not disagree with all of the 5-star reviews more and in fact I'm sure this company is finding a way to scrub reviews. Working with SH movers has been one of the worst experiences of my life. I had initially booked with International Van Lines but one of SH's salespeople, named Mike, called me and sold me on his company, telling us that they'll be with us every step of the way and give us the best service possible because they're much smaller than the larger brokers.
After making very clear to the salesperson, again , Mike, that we need our things delivered by Jan 2, 2021 or shortly thereafter, and even counting out the calendar days with him on the phone, the company still entered Jan 2 as our "Earliest Date of Delivery" meaning that they will not even start thinking about how to deliver your goods until that date. SH picked my goods up from my apartment in NYC on Dec 9, 2020 and a couple weeks later, I called to make sure everything was okay, only to find out that my things were sitting in their warehouse and that there was no way I would get my things until mid-to-late January.
Over the course of the past few weeks, SH has only returned one of my calls and it has been a struggle to get anyone to pick up the phone. Clearly not the sort of service you expect when they are holding $50,000 worth of your belongings.
After reaching out to SH every day of the week, they were apparently able to get my goods on a truck on Thursday, Dec 31, 2020, only to find out on Friday, Jan 8, 2021, that the truck turned around "due to weather related issues" and brought our goods back to the warehouse in New Jersey after delivering several other customers' items. Immediately checking the national weather service showed no inclement weather anywhere across the country.
At this point, we are at a loss for words and we have no idea where our things actually are.
Help? Please?
Updating this to tell you all that these guys finally delivered my things on January 22, 2021, a full 3 weeks after it was supposed to arrive and 6 weeks after it was picked up. Upon arrival of my goods, I found out that this company actually brokers out delivery! So they lied to me about this at every step of the way. Amazing!

"This was the WORST service I’ve ever…"
This was the WORST service I’ve ever had. The movers were incredibly rude, raised my price by $700 once they got here, didn’t wear masks in the house, forgot many items that were listed, etc. it was an absolute nightmare and I’d never, ever work with this company again. ALSO - it has been almost two weeks and my stuff still hasn’t been put on the truck to start driving to my destination and I have gotten zero updates from anyone aside from ME reaching out over and over to find where my stuff is. Now they want to say it’s 21 BUSINESS DAYS to get here (I was told around 14days including weekends) so I’ll be sleeping on the floor for a month! They have a great sense of urgency don’t they?!
Okay when 3 people from the company tell me it’ll be around 14 days including weekends and then a random person on the phone says it’s STILL in across the country 2 weeks later??? Why are you guys waiting around is my question. That’s the only question I’m worried about. Why have you not begun the drive almost 2 entire weeks after taking my things? I truly do not understand. 21 is the ABSOLUTE MAX time for your customers to wait so why are you pushing it as far out as possible. That’s terrible service. If I want my customers happy, I work hard and help them as much as I can and get them what they need as fast as possible but apparently that’s not the case for this company.
