"Unapologetic for what they have done...Shocking Treatment!"

My husband had a very old account that was taken over by Marsh Finance back in 2015 when the previous company went into administration. My husband set up a regular standing order arrangement with them to clear this old account. They failed to issue any annual statements indicating how much he had cleared off the balance yearly, despite being asked for this over the years. Back in March 2021, it came to light through our own calculations, that he had significantly over paid the account by hundreds of pounds! I had to call to explain and wait for the overpayment to be paid back to him and was at that time issued with a letter confirming the account was now 'SETTLED AND CLOSED'. This, we thought was an end to his poor relationship with Marsh. However, in November 2021, it came to light when applying for our mortgage, that on his Transunion credit file, a default had been registered in error against husbands name in June 2020 - this had been registered at the same time as a 'Closed & Settled Account' marker had also been registered on the same date by Marsh Finance. This default was only showing with Transunion and not with Experian or Equifax, otherwise we would have picked this up before our mortgage advisor processed our mortgage application! Needless to say, when processed our application for our house was declined based on the default mark made by Marsh Finance being flagged on our otherwise completely clean and clear credit files!! Upon calling Marsh Finance immediately, I made an official complaint on 2 December and they contacted Transunion to confirm the default had been marked 'in error by their systems' and that the account was indeed closed and settled in June 2020. That was back in mid December 2021 but it has taken weeks for Transunion to action this amendment and it has caused a knock on delay with 'My Credit File' updating theirs too so our mortgage declination has still not been taken back to the underwriters. It takes months for credit files to be updated!! What I fail to understand is, if Marsh Finance were able to put a marker on my husbands credit file in June 2020 that the account had been 'settled and closed' (as well as the default error they registered at the same time!) - they must've been fully aware of this, so why did they continue to let my husbands account go into significant credit and not notify us that the account had been paid in full at that stage?? Rather than let him overpay until March 2021 - WHEN WE REALISED OURSELVES AND CONTACTED THEM?? I am now having to continually chase Marsh Finance to get an outcome to our complaint regarding the incorrect issuing of the default and their other significant failings. I keep being advised, the proposed response is 'with the managers' to look at our case, that they 'cannot tell us what the proposed response is in case it gets changed' and that the case handlers meetings to discuss our case with managers keep getting mysteriously 'cancelled'. In short, they keep hiding behind their 8 week response time and dragging their heels by not issuing an appropriate response....we're now a month into this! You would think with the significance of this complaint and the catastrophic errors they have made to my husbands account and credit file, that they would have sincerely apologised immediately and remedied the situation to offer adequate compensation to us for the position they have put us in, but no... Nothing!! No apology either in writing or on the phone to date. They almost make it seems like it is our error for not noticing THEIR mistakes sooner! They are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority I assume as a financial institution...I for one will not be resting until they have their accreditations taken away from them. After all, they've ruined our move and our life and seem so blasé about it!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME USING THIS COMPANY. IT CERTAINLY ISNT 'SENSIBLE FINANCE' AND THEY MOST CERTAINLY ARE NOT 'RESPONSIBLE PEOPLE'!!!

"I have a company dealing with a claim…"

I have a company dealing with a claim there telling them they can’t find my details but when I telephoned them 2 weeks ago they gave me the agreement number plus they put information on my credit report recently so they lie this is a bad company don’t use them under no survumstance I had a car with them got reposed but still had to pay the full amount of credit witch was only paid of 2 years ago when they put a charge on my house so they not only lie to customer they lie to company working on behalf of customers I have got the agreement number so if any company is willing to take the case on for the payment they made to motorpoint to take us on for the car

"I would highly recommend Marsh"

I would highly recommend Marsh - especially Dale. I had my finance agreed and my new car bought within a couple of days of speaking to them. Going directly to Marsh was much easier than via a dealership and I will recommend Marsh to any of my friends who are looking for a new car
