"One of the worse suits I have had"

My view : never even go near these guys , as this is nothing but am outsourced tailor .I fitted 2 suits with them as usual the guy came to cambridge measured and did all the prep talks.paid close to 1800 gbp- after 6 weeks the suits came to you by post , crumbled , squeezed in a polythene cover. I called the gentleman and asked whether you can't even bother to put it In a suit bag and courier. He said that's going to be expensive but I can always press it at a local store at my cost. This is for a suit costing more than 900 pounds. Wore it , trouser doesn't fit and is too tight.call him and this guy invites me to a tailor shop at Chelsea to do adjustments. After this also it fits weirdly. I could have bought a perfect fitting suit at this price from CT, or tm Lewin or john Lewis. Only thing you get with this suit is your name written inside the jacket.!!!. I am board member and I never wear this suit to any functions.. so guys if you have money to spend go to a shop.in Saville row or to Charles trywrtt or tm Lewin but stay away from these off the mill punks

"WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT"

I had seen advertisements appearing regularly for years in a well known magazine in the UK and I promised myself that one day I would give them a try. As a lawyer I wear a suit every day.

I made an appointment with Raja Fashions and when I arrived I was met in a grubby, tired hotel room by a gentleman who seemed more inclined to tell me what I wanted to order and not the other way around.

He measured me and then told me that the prices I mentioned (as per the magazine advert) were for an inferior quality material and I should go for a better quality which turned out to be 60% more than the advertised price for two suits, and they didn't come with two made-to-measure shirts as advertised.

He seemed more concerned to get my debit card than anything else, which he took from me and entered my details into his computer. He told me about the arrival time for the first suit (no second fitting) and he bade me farewell.

When I checked my bank statement I noted that I had been charged for the conversion from GBP (£) to Hong Kong dollars which cost £43, however when I complained to Raja they did promptly refund me the payment, but they should not have taken it in the first place because they advertise in GBP.

The fit on the trousers of the first suit was extremely tight (which they corrected for the second suit when I told them). The overall look of the suits is wholly disappointing and ill-fitting and I could have bought two made-to-measure suits local to where I live for the same price, with a number of fittings until the customer is satisfied.

I have a 100% wool pin-striped suit, which I bought 'off the peg' from Marks & Spencer for a third of the price of one of the Raja suits, it's first class quality and it fits like a glove.

I had expected to become a regular customer of Raja, but my first disappointing experience has put me off completely.

"Tailoring as it should be"

I was measured for a dark blue summer coat on May 12th 2023 in London, with delivery promised in about six weeks. The coat in fact arrived only three weeks later, on June 1st; it fitted perfectly, looked very good and was altogether what I hoped it would be.

Trousers not “ made to measure”; just an approximation. Specific measurements required were not met. Have been altered by local tailor but made with to little room in the front so both pairs are not wearable.

I've been ordering from Raja Fashions for over 15 years and never had anything other than perfect fit and quality. I recently a last minute change to one of my shirts which was already made - they happily made the changes and sent it without charge. 100% happy and would thoroughly recommend Raja Fashions.

"Very poor experience"

I used this company more than a decade ago and was really happy with the result.

This time, sadly, not at all.

I bought three suits and four shirts- the shirts are fine. The suit trousers are also fine.

The jackets absolutely don't fit. I went twice for further measurements- both times they came back without any real improvements. In fact, the last time nothing at all had changed.

The salesman/tailor tried to gaslight me into believing it was normal for lapels to push out a full inch beyond my chest because "it's a slim cut".

I took them to a local tailor who corrected the fit across the back of the neck but said there was nothing he could do about the lapels- they don't conform to my body shape at all and basically haven't been cut for me. There's nothing that they can do to correct this except start the jacket again. He described it as "bad tailoring".

These are not even made-to-measure suits. Certainly not bespoke. Avoid. Raja Fashions really isn't what it used to be.

In October 2021 I decided to order a bespoke suit for my wedding at the end of April. Met the representative in the hotel, he took measurement, made me choose fabric and liner, so far so good; decided to go for more expensive fabric so the whole thing costed me around 700£. After few weeks the suit arrived, the jacket had a very baggy look, not following my body shape at all, called the company, had a quick online conversation and been asked to send back the jacket for adjustment.First surprise: the adjustments are free but the cost of shipping to the tailor is on you (~30£). weeks after suit is back looking made for a person a couple of sizes bigger than me. Another online conversation, another 30£ to send it back (end of February), now the cost of the suit is nearly 800£. I tell the salesman to take the time they need to fix it right, since we will not have really time for another iteration. After 3 weeks, my wedding date is now near and I have no suit yet. I chase it up and I get told that the tailor had covid and couldn't work, had "a lot of work to do on it" and that it will be sent back to me the week after (4 weeks from receiving it). Eventually Jacket arrives, two weeks before I leave for my wedding, jacket is more or less back as it was the first time I sent it back, not suitable for wedding. I complained to the salesman, asking to return the suit and be refunded since the product is not at the standard promised, get told refund is not possible. I ask to speak to a manager to authorise the refund, the person does not reply. Since the end of March 2022 nobody ever replied my texts/email so I cannot even have the jacket fixed, against the company's promise. The whole thing costed me twice as much a suit from Ted Baker or Boss, both made with much higher quality and better fitting than this one. The website even says that with your first suit you get two shirts for free that I have never been given. I suggest to buy a good quality suit from a shop and pay a tailor to have it adjusted, it will end up in a much better product, cheaper and quickly. AVOID!

"Raja and Family is now my go to Tailor for all my suits!"

I have been buying suits for four years since I first went to Hong Kong in October 2017. I went to the original location in Kowloon, met with Raja himself, for four fittings and enjoyed it. He is quite the personality and took a personal interest in the fitting of myself, my business partners, and even my son. Since then I have bought many more suits when the sales people travel to Texas, and I’ve recently bought two sets of sheets online from his son Prashant.
This is a fantastic family business, they take time to work with you and make sure you get a quality product. I cannot recommend the tailoring shop enough. I love the suits, and I never thought I would find such outstanding clothes at such a great value. Very high end suits, that look great, and wonderful service !

Definitely worth if you ever get a chance when you’re in Hong Kong or one of their other shops to go in and get a fitting!
