"Our garden room build"

We cannot recommend Tranquil garden rooms enough… From start to finish nothing was too much trouble, from my constant emails asking sooo many questions, Emma was always so professional whilst being so kind and friendly at the same time.
Last week, during the build, Mark and the team were just the loveliest. The most respectful and polite workmen we have ever had here, and their craftsmanship is second to none. We are over the moon with the build and can’t wait to make it our own.

"Liked the room but there is no warranty on the work"

Initially I was very pleased with the company and the garden room we had built at the end of last year, however an issue with the door frame has uncovered a significant issue with the warranty the company provides on the build (or doesn’t provide) and the after service (or lack of) from the Tranquil garden room company..

As with many reviews here we were initially very happy with the build but after around 8 Months one of the door glass shattered without any reason. I contacted the company as I felt there must be a fault with the glass or fitting as nothing had happened to the door and we have never had a door/window smash in this way.

But they confirmed the glass wasn’t covered under warranty and that I would have to fix it myself. So I called a glazier to replace the glass, he arrived and immediately confirmed that the door wasn’t straight (he put the glass against the frame and it wasn’t sitting squarely at all), he could fit the new glass but he said I should contact the builder as his view was the pressure on the glass from the bent frame had caused the glass to shatter and it could happen again. He measured the door and the middle of the frame was 6mm less than the outside top to bottom so the door was being pinched in the middle by the frame. The door on the left side (which shattered) was also not closing properly, I hadn’t noticed this as I only used the door on the right which was a little sticky but not too much.

So I contacted Tranquil garden rooms again on the back of the glaziers recommendation – initially I received no response so I kept trying and eventually the response was:

“The problem that I’ve got, is nothing was said about the door not closing properly before the glazier replaced the glass and now you have an issue with closing the door so we are not liable. He may not of heel and toed the glass correctly.

The guarantee is only on the structural elements of the garden room not the doors or windows.“

I’ve gone back several times since to try and get the issue resolved but had no response since the one above. The lack of communications from the company is really terrible. It’s obviously not the glaziers issue, just looking at the bottom of the frame you can see the frame is bent upwards at the bottom of the left door, It bows upwards about 5mm - the fitting is really poor.

I’ve sent photos of the bent frame and I warned that I’d write this review if I didn’t get any response, but still have had nothing back from the company in months of trying.

While the garden room looks great and we were happy with the build initially it seems that if there is an issue with anything then the warranty isn’t worth the paper it’s written on and they just stop communicating with you.

The door frame would have a warranty from the manufacturer – if it had been installed properly… The installation should be covered under warranty but it isn’t. If you have an issue after the build chances are you will be on your own.

If I was doing a garden room again I wouldn’t go with this company due to the complete lack of interest and communications after they have completed the build.

"Fabulous garden room"

I was impressed by the company from first contact, communication with Mark and Emma was speedy and responsive. The design stage was swift and straightforward. The build process was exceptionally efficient and very fast. They guys worked very hard and completed the project sooner than anticipated. They were at all times professional and a real pleasure to have on site.
The garden room is absolutely stunning and has changed our lives, we love the space. Everyone who had seen it has been impressed.
Cannot recommend the company highly enough, exceptional service.

Tranquil Garden Rooms have not only built the perfect artist studio for me at the bottom of the garden, they have also given me the best chill-out zone imaginable. I'm virtually living down there now, working, entertaining and just luxuriating in the space. The spec, the finish, the comfort and attention to detail are amazing. 'A thing of beauty', is how people have described it. Mark and his team were dedicated and great company during the build, and I can't recommend them highly enough. Brilliant.

Thanks to Mark, Emma and all the team for our fabulous garden room. We looked at the impressive reviews before we started and it was the easy to understand pricing and case studies that made us choose Tranquil Garden Rooms. We had a site visit from Mark, agreed on a design, booked a date and that was it. The team took 4.5 days to finish the job and they were hardworking and good humoured. Keep them supplied with caffeine and watch them go. Easily the best experience we have had from any home/garden improvement service we have used over the years. The room really adds a wow factor to our house and we look forward to using it! Thanks guys.

Mark & the team have just completed a 4.5m x 3.5m Garden Room for us. I cannot rate their work highly enough. From conception to completional of build, the attentional to detail and flexibility was superb, and the end result is of the highest standard. We found the whole team were professional and engaging which made the process all the more enjoyable. I would not hesitate in recomending them!
