"Black mould in house"

Booked a viewing for a three bed and was shown around by the estate agent and landlord. Noticed black mould growing in one of the walk-in closets in the main bedroom.

When this was pointed out, the landlord tried to fob me off by stating it was condensation from tenants not opening windows (it was a closed closet with no windows near it). The painter who was there also said "we'll just paint over that, don't worry," as I was viewing the property with my one-year-old in my arms.

Absolutely disgusting that a house being let has black mould on show and even more disgusting that the solution was to cover it up. This was before we'd even decided to rent.

Hopefully someone will report that landlord and get his houses condemned!

Edit: You can see from their reply how they fob people off. I grew up in a house with walk-in wardrobes and never experienced mould. Also never heard of mould growing from damp clothes. That would have to be a lot of damp over a long time. Surely the first step would be to locate the source of the issue before blaming tenants?

I went with the fully managed service which leaves me with no worries if there is a problem because I know the team will have it covered.

"Incompetent Property Management at Accommodation.co.uk"

My tenure with Accommodation.co.uk was an absolute nightmare. From the outset, it was clear that their management practices were severely lacking. Throughout the rental period, my property suffered extensive damage, including to furniture, the bed, and even a broken door lock and dining table, along with missing two big rubbish bins provided by the council (discovered by my new property management company, who informed me, prompting me to inquire with Accommodation.co.uk). Shockingly, none of these issues were documented in the move-out report, showcasing their blatant disregard for proper protocol.

To exacerbate the situation, critical oversights such as damaged sockets and a damaged fridge were conveniently omitted from the report. It's alarming to think that such crucial issues were completely overlooked, further highlighting the incompetency of Accommodation.co.uk.

The living conditions were nothing short of atrocious, with a strong STINKY PEE smell permeating both the kitchen and bedroom after the tenant moved out. Torn wallpaper and scuffed paintwork added to the property's dismal state.

One of the most alarming incidents involved a fridge mishandled by the tenants, resulting in damage and posing a significant safety risk. Despite being recorded in the mid-term house inspection report, Accommodation.co.uk failed to inform the tenant to connect properly until I brought it to their attention. Then, the property manager said he would provide me a picture of the proof that the fridge was connected correctly, but he did not provide it in the end, even after reminders. Their lack of proactive management and disregard for tenant safety is simply unacceptable.

Communication with the company was a nightmare, with my requests for updates and documentation consistently ignored or brushed aside. There was even a time when they finally provided a picture of the tasks being done, but the image was unrelated to my property, yet they insisted it was. This disregard for accuracy and detail further demonstrates their incompetence.

In conclusion, my experience with Accommodation.co.uk was nothing short of a disaster. Their incompetence, negligence, and lack of professionalism have caused me untold stress and financial hardship. It is my first time that I have not received earned any rental profit but paid extra to do all the maintenance. I strongly advise anyone considering their services to look elsewhere for a management company that actually values professionalism and accountability.
