"I believe this is a scam"

I believe this is a scam. Be aware. I contacted them and clearly explained my needs and what type of connection I need. Over the phone, they confirmed that this was the exact service they would offer, and they pushed me to pay £144 (a one-year fee in advance). I have paid that over the phone and waited for the service to be delivered. They have allocated me a landline which wasn't doing anything from what I have asked (i.e my mobile to be forwarded to that landline, etc). Do not pay them in advance unless you will test the service. I have contacted them immediately after 1h. They promised to fully refund the £144. I sent at least 10 emails and called as there is no sign of the refund. I am being passed between departments every time I call. DO NOT TRUST!

"We have been their customers for a few…I’m very dissatisfied with their poor customer service"

We have been their customers for a few years and were initially satisfied. Recently, they sold us a service that was supposed to let us make calls anywhere using our company number, including international numbers. They repeatedly confirmed that international calling would be included. However, from day one, we have been unable to call any international numbers.

I contacted them by email and phone about this issue. They suggested installing an app and then said it was working on their end, but I tested it by calling three different international destinations and it still didn’t work. Now, they claim we need to pay separately for each international call. This means the £300 we paid for 14 months apparently doesn't cover these calls, and they also want us to pay an additional monthly fee on top of that.

I asked them to cancel the contract, but they have refused. They do not provide any clear documentation or contract explaining what we purchased or what their responsibilities are. I’m very dissatisfied with their poor customer service and will be pursuing a refund of the money we have already paid.

"I initially joined Cleartone in 2023…"


I initially joined Cleartone in 2023 but left mid-year due to a failure in service provision. In 2024, they persuaded me to return, and at first, I was satisfied. I trialled the service before considering a longer-term commitment for my business, and I am relieved that I did not fully commit. Approximately one month after signing up, the call recording feature—one of the primary reasons I chose their service—ceased to function. I was unable to utilise this feature for the remaining six months of my contract.

Despite numerous attempts to resolve the issue, Cleartone ignored every single one of my requests. Although they asked for a chance to rectify the problem, they proceeded to disregard every communication I sent after explaining the issue in detail. Nothing was resolved, and they even failed to close the service on time.

I am genuinely disappointed, as I had previously appreciated the company and its independent nature. In the past, I had received prioritised, personalised service; however, that is no longer the case. The current experience suggests a lack of competency and care.

I would strongly advise any business owner to avoid Cleartone. While they are quick to make a sale, they are extremely slow to rectify any issues. Their dismissive attitude and lack of responsiveness could severely impact your business. I would not recommend taking that risk.
