"Had problems with hot water n central…"

Had problems with hot water n central heating issues they came out within a few hours excellent service throughout the job kept me informed of what was happening. Both workers Tamrez and Ali were respectful to the property and cleaned up afterwards. Before they left they made sure everything running smoothly

"Highly recommended!"

The boiler stopped working on one of the coldest days of the year. Called Mr Reactive who came the next morning. The engineer immediately knew the fault and found that the guttering where the condensate pipe drains had frozen solid after being blocked by the recent snowfall. He quickly removed the ice from the guttering and reset the boiler. Excellent service once again from these guys.

Have been with this company going 1year or so. We were covered by another company before, which turned out to be a waste of time when we needed most. Mr reactive is a great efficient and customer focused company. Totally reliable and professional and knowledgeable, No problems at this end, and living in Leeds it's local to me.

"What a helpful outfit."

What a helpful outfit.
Started with a chat then onto a video call and he fixed the problem over the phone.
Can’t express my appreciation for his help.
Simple enough fix but he was on the button with the problem.
Would highly recommend.

"A great workman - terrible office staff. "

I needed to have my boiler re-pressurised, and called these guys. A friendly knowledgeable guy named Adil came out, and fixed it. Really happy with Adil. He was polite - even put those protective plastic things on his shoes before he came inside. 10/10 for Adil.

Adil mentioned that MrReactive offer 'plans' where, for a set fee each month, they cover repairs to a variety of household issues (electrical / plumbing etc). I signed up for the Silver Plan, at £16 per month. This plan specifically states that they cover damage to "repairs to leaking cold water pipes".

The following day, a cold water pipe (which was leading to a tap) in my kitchen burst. I called Mr Reactive, and was told that it wouldn't be covered by the policy for the following two reasons:

1) I was within the 28 day initial period, and no claims can be made in this time. This is fair enough - I don't have a problem with that (although it doesn't state that on the policy documents, just in the twelve page terms and conditions on their website).

2) They don't cover repairs to taps.

I spent quite a long time on the phone to them (as my kitchen was getting more and more flooded) explaining that it wasn't the tap that was leaking, but it was the pipe leading to the tap. They kept responding with 'it's a tap'. They did offer to come out for £72 - but I declined, because if they are unable to distinguish between a tap and a pipe leading to a tap, I wouldn't trust them in my house anyway.

Eventually I gave up, and called another plumber, who fixed the issue quickly.

When I spoke to MrReactive the following day, they (eventually) admitted that it should have been covered, and the confusion was caused by them assuming that the pipe was a tap. Although I was pleased that they could identify their fault, I was then faced with a barrage of, "but we wouldn't have covered it anyway as it was in the first 28 days", "I'm not going to get into it" and "I'm an educated man". He also kept mentioning that they offered to come out for £72 - great, but that's nothing to do with my complaint.

They've cancelled my cover - which is a shame, as the issue was caused by the one employee who assumed that a pipe was a tap, and the manager (?) I spoke to the following day. The only workman I met (Adil) was great. It's just a shame that he doesn't work independently, as otherwise he would be my go-to.

To give a further indication of the bad attitude of the guy I spoke to the following day, I mentioned that I had left a negative review. He replied with "I don't care. We have lots of five star reviews. And all of your reviews are negative anyway". This is not true. I have two one-star reviews, seven five-star reviews, and one four-star reviews. But again, an incorrect assumption had been made.

Also - the guy who called me back the following day started complaining about not getting paid by a company which I used to work at. Not sure the relevance of this, although I later discovered that the invoice they sent to my former employer was several months after the job was completed, and this was flagged by the accounts department of that company.

What would have made the issue better, is if they could have called me back, asked some questions, apologised, offered me a few months free cover to compensate me for the cost of the plumber who eventually came out, and told me that they would take greater care next time. Instead, I was just bombarded by someone with a bad attitude. Although, to his credit, when I eventually managed to get a word in edgeways, he did concede that a pipe is not the same thing as a tap, and that they had made an error.

A real shame - a great product and employee (Adil), let down by very poor service.

best ever experience with Mr Reactive, first time booked with them but the experience was so pleasant that i decided to sign up for their boiler cover which is luckily discounted when i am signing up. also received discount on repair as i joined their cover. thanks again

"very professional very affordable"
