Gary and Jack were both very positive and encouraging. The time absolutely flew past and I not only learnt about using my voice but also about how the industry works and how to market myself. The most reassuring thing is that I now have a full year of support and advice to get things off the ground. A great confidence builder for any beginner and an excellent showreel to get you started.

I met Gary yesterday to record my demo at the studio in London. Gary's amiable character and professionalism immediately put me at ease and after an overview of his services, the industry and what we would be doing in the next few hours, we got to work on the VO demos. I had great fun in the studio with Gary and Anthony, the sound engineer. Their feedback was encouraging and their direction was insightful. Gary has already been in touch today, assisting while I put together my at home studio. I very much look forward to sending him my future demos and auditions for his input. Gary's VOmasterclass has given me the confidence needed to start a career in Voice Overs, without him I'm not sure this path would have been possible.

I was extremely nervous and self conscious when I arrived but Gary and Jack put me at ease. Both very enthusiastic and knowledgeable, they talked me through everything we did, explained the processes and helped make the recording feel less frightening. I was very comfortable hearing their reassurances through the headphones and by the end felt very at home in the booth! I didn’t want it to end but it’s motivated me to take it forward and put in the hard work!

"I have just spent 3hrs with Gary and…"

I have just spent 3hrs with Gary and Anthony(sound engineer) in the London studio. I had to fly in from Belfast and catch a couple of tube trains but it was all worthwhile.
Gary and Anthony were very welcoming and I felt at ease immediately.
Gary has a relaxed manner and was never critical in a negative way but constructive and genuine.
After 3hrs and 4 voice overs for my reel I felt happy with the result.
So now I'll see what happens.

"Just Do It!"

I had mulled over for months whether or not to undertake some voice training - and once I had made up my mind to actually take the plunge, I am so very glad I did.

I met with Gary and his sound technician (Anthony) last year, and although I was extremely nervous on the day, particularly because this is a whole new ball game for me, and so had no real idea as to what to expect, I really had no need to feel anxious. Gary and Anthony made me feel so welcome, and spent some time helping me to understand the business and some basics before it was my turn to 'take the stage'. By the time I was shown to the booth where I was to make my debut, I felt really confident and keen to get going. I did various demos including an advert for a face wash, an excerpt from a book, a corporate health and safety advice demo etc. I thought it would be a really simple thing to do, just to stand there with headphones on, reading from a script and speaking into a microphone, but I was so grateful for the training and advice provided to me, including breathing techniques, or just as simple as smiling whilst speaking. Throughout my time with Gary and Anthony, I was provided with SO much help and advice which has had a huge positive impact on my confidence level.

Outside of voice over/training, it has been an extremely busy time for me, so pursuing this road hasn't, unfortunately, been priority. However, I am determined that this will be my year to take on voice over work with a vengeance. Gary provides so many links and offers help with some free voice over sites as a good starting point. As part of my course I was signed up with an agency and I have had a lot of invites for auditions, which as mentioned, up until now have not had a real chance to pursue.

My advice to anyone thinking about undertaking training with Gary is to not give it a second thought - just do it!

A massive thank you to both Gary and Anthony for their professionalism, friendliness and overall help and advice from the moment I entered their studio to the time I left. It really was a wonderful experience.
