"Excellent and well-organised trekking holiday to Ama Dublam, Nepal"
The holiday was well organised and everything went smoothly. I was well looked after during the trek. I felt safe all the time while in the mountains and at high altitude.

"From Lukla to Ama Dablam base camp"
A very well organised holiday from Lukla to Ama Dablam base in the Himalayas. Safety and wellbeing were always prioritised by the European and Nepali guides. The trek was amazing. The Nepali people were lovely and the scenery spectacular. No roads or cars just people and animals.

"Roland treated us as individuals"
Roland treated us as individuals and was quick to answer all questions. Bhutan is a stunning place to visit and its definitely away from the crowds and the trek embraces the scenery, culture and nature. Our guides were excellent.

"Superb trip to Nepal"
The trip booking guidance, pre-trip information, quick and helpful response to questions, and everything about the Ama Dablam Base Camp trip itself was exemplary. I felt well informed and looked after throughout, from the office, the guides, porter and driver. The communication and organisation from the Mountain Company was exceptional.

"The gold standard of Bhutan Snowman Trek"
The Bhutan Snowman trek is a sublime high altitude trek with spectacular mountains, beautiful mossy forests and wild rivers. Some parts are very wild and remote, other parts invite interesting interactions with local people. But all the way, you are supported by The Mountain Company's exceptional crew with excellent logistics, seriously amazing food and leaders with the depth of experience that goes with running over a decade of Snowman treks. The Mountain Company's longer itinerary is crafted to get to the most spectacular wild and remote parts of northern Bhutan and to optimise acclimatisation. This is really important and sets them apart with their quality of Snowman trek in all regards. It was a brilliant trek, full of adventure and laughter.

"The trekking trip to Ama Dablem base…"
The trekking trip to Ama Dablem base camp was very well organised the local guides and porters couldn’t have been better (I have been on a number of remote wilderness treks) our UK group leader Jill ensured that the pace was right for altitude which ensured that I was able to reach the base camp which was a hard personal challenge for my age,I celebrated my 76 birthday with the group the day we got back to Kathmandu.
The basic lodge accommodation was variable due to cold and freezing conditions at that time of year but it was soon forgotten with a hot bath when we got back to Kathmandu as we had been upgraded to rooms with a bath by the company.

"The Annapurna circuit, an amazing trek with The Mountain Company"
After having done the camping trek to K2 base camp 2 years ago we wanted to do another trek in Nepal that would be very different to the K2 trek. This certainly ticked that box!
The variety of scenery due to trekking at higher and lower elevations in 2 different valleys with different ecosystems and cultures really made this trek special and very interesting. The mountain views change from day to day with views of the big ones Manaslu, Annapurnas and Dhaulagiri and many others. What surprised us was how much we enjoyed walking through lots of the small mountain villages and how interesting it was seeing the different village cultures and ways of life up close. In certain areas there were strong Tibetan influence and others more traditional Nepalese Hindu culture.
The trek itinerary and route avoids most of the roads that are getting higher into the mountain valleys, this is the most popular trekking destination in Nepal but it didn’t feel overcrowded out on the trails.
There was plenty of time to acclimatise to the altitude with having 3 nights in Manang which also gives flexibility if needed. Some of the highlight days were the Manang acclimatisation day walks to the Ice Lake and Gangapurna glacier. Other highlights were the Muktinath to Lupra day and the walk to the Dhaulagiri icefall was also a stunner. Lots of trekkers finish after going over the Thorong La pass just doing the half circuit. If you have the time I would definitely recommend doing the whole circuit for the variety of scenery and culture.
The wildlife was also fun, yaks and naks higher up and monkeys in the forests lower down.
The tea houses we stayed in were all a good standard as was the food on offer, local dishes, dal bhat being the best choice obviously! Apart from the very highest tea house all had electrical sockets for gadget charging in the rooms and similarly a lot had a en suite toilet sometimes with a shower/sink.
Our guides and porters were excellent. The guides spoke good English and were very knowledgeable.
Our second trek with The Mountain Company! We would definitely use them again and would confidently recommend them to others.
TMC has great local expertise and experience of trekking in the countries it operates in. The pre booking and departure information from Roland is detailed and super helpful. Very likely you will have a departure briefing and finish briefing with Roland in Kathmandu.
All the people we had contact with from Roland to the Kathmandu office team, guides, porters and drivers were very friendly and professional.
The local team in Kathmandu are able to respond quickly and deal with any queries or issues should they arise whilst out on the trek. It is very reassuring having that experience on hand and available via WhatsApp or phone if needed. friendly capable people.

"Superb trek to Kanchenjunga's north and south base camps in Nepal"
A fantastic three-week trek around the base of the world's third highest mountain (Kanchenjunga) in Nepal, slickly organised and managed by The Mountain Company with all of our objectives achieved. Food was excellent and locally sourced, accommodation was mainly in lodges on the trail, although we had an option to camp if we didn't fancy the lodge, which happened on a couple of occasions (the guide and porter team put the tents up in those cases, all we had to do was sleep there!). This is adventure travel in a remote area of the Nepal Himalaya, but our comfort, safety and enjoyment were paramount and we could not have been in better hands!
