"the dishes sometimes taste like soap is in it,"

I have been eating these for quite a while however i have eaten many where the rice tastes like soap, maybe the rice is being cooked in a dish that wasnt properly rinsed after it was washed. I have noticed this in the last two months multiple times and others i work with tasted them and thought the same

"Completely unreliable deliveries!!"

Completely unreliable deliveries!!

I work in an office in the Sydney CBD and multiple times the delivery driver does not deliver to the mail room. Instead they just drop it off in some random location in the basement and leave, marking it on the app as 'delivered'. It then sits for hours before being found (and luckily not stolen).

No message was sent for today's delivery and it was only after I called the customer service number at around 3pm that they said that delivery was made at 9am. I ultimately found the package in a random location near the engineering/plant room (why??!), all hot and with the ice cooling bags completely melted.

I love the quality and convenience of the food, and the call centre staff have been helpful, but the repeated issues with the delivery drivers (who I understand are outsourced) is too much. I have just cancelled my subscription.

MMC, you need to sort out your logistics provider. They are ruining your brand!

"Appalling customer service "

I’ve been a loyal Muscle Chef customer for years, but my most recent delivery was a complete disaster. The driver left my order at the wrong address, and I couldn’t track it down. I’ve emailed customer support three times and still haven’t received a reply. Honestly, this has been the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had, and I never expected this from a company I’ve trusted for so long. I’m cancelling my subscription and moving to a different meal prep service.

"Never ordering from them again."

My last experience was one that has put me off ever ordering from them again. Three of the meals were delivered already off despite the best before dates being a week away, with the packaging inflated to the point of almost popping. Open the meal and the odour was horrendous. Other meals I got were extremely gluggy and tasteless and a couple were even damaged with holes in the plastic on top. Communication and trying to get any kind of help from them is an impossible task and when you do they're not willing to listen or help.
Do not recommend!

"Delivery services are a joke"

Delivery services are a joke, don’t bother.
Loads of hidden delivery conditions that their drivers just leave them anywhere, don’t ring bells, don’t contact properly and then they just say ‘we send texts’ which contain links so tend to go to spam.
Loads of reviews here saying the same so obviously happens all the time.

"Unreliable Delivery, Zero Accountability, and No Customer Support"

I had a package delivered to the wrong location, despite providing clear delivery instructions. I specifically requested that my order be left in front of my second-floor apartment, which is easily accessible via an elevator without a keycard or any interaction with me. Instead, the package was left on the ground floor, directly in front of the elevator, visible to anyone walking by. Unsurprisingly, it was stolen.

When I contacted customer service, they confirmed that the package was left in the wrong place but refused to take responsibility. They later explained that their drivers are not required to go above ground level, yet this was never communicated during checkout or delivery. Had I known, I could have made alternative arrangements. Instead, they left my expensive order in a completely unsecured location.

This was a week’s worth of meals, easily worth $200, now completely lost due to their negligence.

To make matters worse, their online chat is unresponsive, and they fail to follow up on inquiries. I’ve reached out multiple times and have yet to receive a proper resolution.

If you’re considering using this service, be aware that their unclear policies and lack of customer support may leave you without any help if something goes wrong. Would not recommend.

After further discussions with customer service, it has become even clearer that My Muscle Chef is unwilling to take accountability for their failure to deliver my order to the correct location. Despite their own terms and conditions stating that orders will be left in the specified location, they are now claiming that their couriers are not required to go above ground level—a restriction that was never communicated at checkout or in their terms.

I have also pointed out that previous deliveries were made directly to my apartment door without issue, contradicting this supposed policy. Yet, instead of addressing their inconsistent delivery practices or offering a resolution, they are doubling down on their refusal to help.

The only "solution" they offered was to change my delivery time so I could personally retrieve future orders—ignoring the fact that I paid for delivery to a specific location and lost $200 worth of food due to their negligence.

This entire experience has shown that My Muscle Chef does not stand by their own policies, does not take responsibility for failed deliveries, and does not provide adequate customer support. If anything goes wrong, you’re on your own.

After a frustrating amount of back-and-forth, My Muscle Chef finally issued a full credit for the stolen order—as a one-time exception. I appreciate the resolution, but it took far too much effort to get there.

They continued to insist that their couriers can’t deliver above ground level, yet my replacement order (using the credit) was delivered directly to my apartment door—exactly as I'd originally requested. The inconsistency is honestly baffling.

While I'm glad the second delivery went smoothly, the unclear policies and poor communication make it hard to recommend this service. If something goes wrong, don’t expect quick or easy support.

"Customer service team are beyond…"

Customer service team are beyond useless - Colleen in particular who will be patronizing & zero help.
Issues with my delivery due to their driver that they told me was their own fault, but nothing they can do - only update details for the next delivery.
As if I was going to order again.
Happy to ruin reputation instead of amend their mistakes, can see from the reviews here it is a recurring issue.

"Portions are tiny"

Portions are tiny, as lots of online reviews suggest very skeptical if there is anywhere near the protein in it they say there is - a few pieces of chicken.

They also seem to have misleading Google reviews - you’ll see lots of the same words used over again in different ways, almost as if the same person or company is writing them themselves.

This is just my opinion of course. Much better alternatives.

DO NOT PURCHASE

They will have a smart answer back to this but just admitted on a recorded line they were wrong but nothing they can do.

Delivery driver threw package into a flower bed on the main street at the front of our building, instead of walking 30 more steps to the gate and leaving it under a camera where every other single driver leaves packages.

This was at 1 in the morning so it was then stolen.

They will tell you they dont ring bells cause their drivers are "too busy" and send text messages out in advance.

Absolute scam and it is cheaper to buy a couple when you need them, portion sizes are tiny and much better options.
