"A true shambles of a company"
A true shambles of a company.
As anyone who spends any time in any of the Scouting Facebook communities knows, there is nothing but complaints about this company.
As a previous review states, they engage enthusiastically until they received their funds, and then it's a waste land. They state that the product works and is stable, yet I am unable to add links to our navigation bar, create call to actions and built in templates fail to work.
All of these issues have been emailed to Scout Websites support address over the past 24 months, and not one has been responded to.
AVOID at all costs. Happy to scam charities, even worse when a Director of the company is also a high up member of a County. About time he was removed from Scouting and HQ took action.

It is absolutely impossible to contact them. You can not phone, just book a sales call in 2 weeks time. No answer to multiple online enquiries and emails. Out site has a recapture problem since Jan that is blocking all enquiries on out site and there is nothing we can do to sort it.

"WordPress problems resolved"
My enquiry was treated with urgency and priority, and the problem was solved in a short time. I have always found that the response is personal- not handled by a machine, and would recommend them to any Communications Officer (my role) who is having difficulty with WordPress. Ultimately I caused the fault, but Built By Platform solved it.

So... if you are like me and had a really good experience with Scout Websites... then a really bad time... hold on.
It gets better!
I managed to get in contact with Josh who explained that a few things happened that involved the need to move to a new building and having to get new staff as a result... but now things are on the up!
Response time is really good now.
They are back to their excellent self!

"Avoid this company at all costs"
Avoid this company at all costs. They managed to lose our domain to another company. We can no longer access our website and where forced to go else where with a new domain. So much for all our signage and support material. You cannot contact them by phone and they don’t respond to emails. Our site has been offline for 2 months now.

"Unfinished product, terrible communication."
They were engaging and enthusiastic until they got the money and then the responses became sporadic, simple requests went overlooked, the launched product had only around half the features we paid for. They did get in touch when they wanted an annual service fee - not something we're prepared to pay for a half finished product. I've resumed efforts to get everything sorted out over the last couple of months, lost count now of the number of attempts I've made to get in touch, and aside of one email saying they'd get back to me, there's been no response at all, despite their 5 days SLA. Considering the first of the Scout Laws is "A Scout is to be trusted," I certainly wouldn't recommend lending any of your trust to this company.

They were brilliant to begin with but now I have to chase and chase to get a response. Very frustrating and disappointing. For what we pay I would expect a better service.

"Bit too prescriptive / inflexible"
Whilst there's nothing wrong with the overall design of the site, having an 'off the shelf' template that is completely inflexible to customisation is a bit frustrating. I mean not to be able to rearrange the order of content on the home page because it's fixed for all customers means we couldn't achieve one of our main objectives for our members - making it quick and easy to find the most used pages - they are now way down below loads of less important stuff, so not the best UX. Felt sales pressure in the beginning and a bit of a complacent attitude about the company and what it could deliver. However on the positive side, Jess was helpful and responsive.

Great customer services. For someone who isn’t very technical minded, the team did very well at actioning all my requests and answering all my questions. They have created a fantastic product and made the thoughts in my ahead appear on the website. Thanks to all!
