"Fantastic replacement & Upgrade"

I've had my old ACER for years. Reliable - but as the keys dropped off & it was getting slower it was time for an upgrade. I normally buy new, but having read the reviews on GC I thought I'd give it a go - and I am not disappointed. Excellent HP Elitebook (same as my reliable work one) with all the extras I asked for. Very clean, fast & responsive. Highly recommended & will only use GC from now on!!

"Terrible experience "

I bought 2 laptops for my sons who were about to start secondary school. I paid to upgrade all of the components as I wanted them to have something decent that would hopefully last a long time.

Shortly after I placed the order, I get another email saying due to high demand, delivery times will be approximately 2 weeks later than usual. Fair enough, that’s annoying as the boys would have already started school but I could live with that.

A couple of weeks later the laptops arrive and look great. Both seem to boot up fine and all is well. After a day or so I get error messages showing on one of the laptops. I contact the gadget centre and they say I need to send the laptop back for repair.

So this is all arranged and laptop is sent back. Another couple of weeks go by until I get the replacement. Again, annoying, but not the end of the world.

Replacement laptop is received and all seems ok. I can now get on with my life!

As mentioned, the laptops were for my sons’ secondary school homework. They’ve just started year 7 so maybe use the laptops once a week until the homework starts to build up. So maybe a few hours a week usage.

A couple of months later, my son says to me the the battery is always really low on his laptop. I’m thinking he hasn’t been shutting it down properly or it’s an error on our side. So I monitor it and the same thing keeps happening. So I get in touch with gadget centre and advise that there may be an issue with the battery. They do some checks and confirm there is an issue.

They then go on to tell me I need to pay to have the battery replaced because I’m reporting this over 60 days after receiving the laptop. Hold on, this is the second faulty laptop you have sent me and now I have to pay?! They say the battery isn’t covered after 60 days. Well we used this laptop for a total of maybe 30 hours and now the battery fails?!
He goes on to tell me that it’s a wearable part like tyres on car. If you bought a car and the tyres wore out after 300 miles, you’d think there was an issue with the car right?!

I bought 2 laptops from with you and took out the extended warranty on both. You delayed delivery to me, then one laptop was faulty which I had to send back. You then delayed the replacement laptop to me. Then the replacement laptop battery needs replacing after little use and me reporting it 5 minutes over your 60 day policy!

I will not be using you again and advise anyone I know not to use you. Poor customer service and completely fail to empathize with customer issues.
