"I bought the Roadhawk HD in 2018"

I bought the Roadhawk HD in 2018, it worked perfectly until November 2019 when the date no longer displays correctly. It sets to random month/day with year 2000, 2008, 2034, etc.
Updated to firmware version 1.9, no improvement.
I do not recommend this camera unless this issue is resolved.

"Ok, but GPS signal lock poor (due to heated windscreen?)"

Bought this as it is the recommended camera for my Volvo S90 due to the intellisafe pod - picture quality is fine, although I found my old Nextbase (which couldnt be used in the S90) had more features in the setup menu.

GPS lock is poor - i have heated windscreen and it warns in the manual it might not work, wish i'd read that before i bought it. My fault for not properly researching and accepting Volvo's recommendation. External antenna available but I've had my cam hardwired in, and I don't fancy having a magnetic antenna on the car roof, and not sure where I can get this permanently wired so it's outside the vehicle with the wire concealed - where would the cable enter the car to reach the dashcam?.

GPS lock actually does light up periodically, but even when it says it has GPS signal, it places me about 30 miles west of my position. Not much use.

Compared to my nextbase, a bit disappointed especially that I need even more cables dangling out of the side of it to fit an antenna, doesnt look very neat as it is, and the wife wont be pleased with cables everywhere on her side...

Reviewed this in June as have two cameras where date showing is Jan 2008. Emailed trakm8 support asking for solution to problem and received a new firmware bin file with reply. A quick delete old firmware file on SD card, replace with new one and both cameras working as they should again.

"Avoid RoadHawk HD Series, Buy A Nextbase!"

Have had a Road Hawk HD for 3 years, it worked great, no complaints. Then one day, I removed one of my SD cards to view the footage on my PC as norm. Ever since then it either shows year 2000, 2008 or 2034 on the date stamp and an entirely different time altogether. After months of waiting for some kind of patch, nada! Well I say that, there was a "firmware update" apparently. What that did il never know as It certainly didn't fix the time/date issue that's for sure! I can no longer rely on this camera. Road Hawk you have lost a customer! Choose Nextbase all day long!

"Roadhawk DC-2 purchased in April…"

Roadhawk DC-2 purchased in April 2015.Has worked very well .. up until now.It has decided that the year is either 2000 , 2008 or 2034.I have formatted the SD card a number of times, put it back in the DC-2 and let the DVR do its thing but to no avail.It obtains a GPS lock but never correct the time/date.
I gave it 4 stars as it has performed very reliably until now.

"My 2nd and 3rd roadhawk bullet r+…"

My 2nd and 3rd roadhawk bullet r+ developed the same problem , brilliant when working but the mini usb at the base of the camera doesnt like frequent swops with leads eventually seperating the joints at the inside of the unit , at first the back up team were friendly but they are unable to repair the units , I am waiting patiently for my unit to be returned so that i can find someone helpful that can repair one , in the mean time its over to the nextbase ride cam , which unfortunatly doesnt give such a good recording stability

My personal review of the DC3 is a good one. The camera has always worked for me without any issues, and it is packed with the latest technology and features. My dealings with the dedicated tech team have always had positive outcomes, and they are always very helpful and polite

"Terrible customer service and equipment."

The camera initially worked fine but after 6 months I could not connect to the camera.

I called their customer support dept. Who were initially very helpful but that soon changed and they told me I would need a new camera, as there was a hardware issue.

As I purchased the camera through a local installer(who apparently wasn't registered with them) they only gave a 3 month warranty.

Everything these days comes with at least a 12 months manufacturers warranty, regardless of who fitted it!

Avoid this company and their cameras and save yourself a lot of hassle.

I bought HD2 dash cam and give you two years warranty, in last two years I sent it more than three times to repair it. Can’t power on if you use it for a few weeks. Not worth it and go for nextbase dash cam.
