We love the 3 in 1 scooter, we use it most days. When changing the height we took it apart and lost a piece. The customer service was so wonderful and said straight away they would send us a replacement part out. I love they do replacements parts as well and are conscious about the impact of the environment of being able to keep something for life and rescue with all my kids

"Great product until something goes wrong - even within warranty period"
Great to see some people have had positive experiences of Micro customer service. Unfortunately, that’s not been the case for us. Really disappointed with both the product and the company.
We bought a Maxi Micro Deluxe scooter for our child 16 months ago. A few weeks ago the brake snapped clean off. Could potentially have been really dangerous. The scooter is under warranty still, but the brake is excluded from the warranty - according to Micro staff, on the grounds that it takes the most wear and tear. Not great but we bought another brake. Except that we can’t fit it because the screws holding the old brake in place are so rusty they can’t be removed.
This happened to our previous Mini Micro after 2.5 years - it’s apparently highly unusual but for it to happen to both of the scooters we’ve owned seems a bit of a coincidence. On that occasion we didn’t pursue it as my child had almost outgrown it.
While both scooters have experienced near daily usage, they are very rarely used in wet conditions and are always stored in our porch (an integral part of the house where we keep coats, etc). So not as though they’ve been left out in the rain.
Customer service from Micro has been non-existent so far. Via WhatsApp and phone calls, we have established we will have to send the scooter base to them at our expense (no indication of timescales) and pay £14.95 for the repair plus the cost of the part (£8.95, I think). In short, for a product under warranty, we will have to pay not far off 25% of the purchase price (it will be over £30 in total and it cost about £129) to get it fixed.
I have expressed my discontent with this in view of the short amount of time we’ve had the scooter but no budging. Totally unacceptable and clearly a design fault for the screws to rust like that in 16 months, especially for a product which markets itself on the ease of replacing failed parts.
The only suggestion Micro had for me was that they would send me a free brake if I could get a hacksaw to remove the nuts securing the screws. Except that would damage the plastic surround as they don’t stand proud of the scooter.
So purchase at your own risk - it’s a great product until something goes wrong. For me, the test of a company is how they deal with a problem and our experience is that Micro isn’t interested in doing the decent thing by customers once a problem materialises. A real shame, as they’re lovely scooters and the concept of them being easily repairable is a great one.
