First-rate Chinese Language School
I have been studying Chinese for over 12 years now, and started taking regular lessons at GoEast about three and a half years ago. I have done lessons with them both in-person and online, always in one-on-one classes. I continue to take lessons there because they took the time to find the right teacher for me, who would fit into my schedule (I am US-based, and wanted to take lessons in the US daytime—this is not always possible when dealing with China-based schools). They are very flexible and are willing to accommodate whatever teaching style/focus the student prefers. Learning Chinese is a long-term commitment, so it’s important to find a school or teacher that will work for you over the long run. GoEast does that job for me.

"Its time-consuming and boring"

-good for people living in China, but hard for people living in Europe due to time shift unless you have all day off, which can be on your weekend for sure.
-quite expensive also- even I wouldn't mind.
-the course itself isn't an ideal format also cause each section is very slowly in progress and its hard to jump from one point to another- you must always listen to the entire monologue again once you started . and try to find something back you have recently learned !? you won't find it quickly.. so its not as effective as u´d wish . its still best with the old fashion style cause u can decide your own speed
- it took very long time to get the money transfer done from Germany to China which is why there was long delay in course start. The new transfer regulations from China do obviously complicate the payment process.

well, I don't see ANY inaccuracies in my review!
It is expensive - as I paid around 50 Euro each 50 min - the course was actually closed by you as every hsk unit must be finished within 3 month . After that the credit money will be automatically confiscated by your school, so I ended up with having paid 50 euro each lesson

I studied Chinese at GoEast for 8 months and the whole experience has been an extremely positive one. I had learned Chinese elsewhere prior to GoEast and they used a placement test to place me, whilst also listening to my previous learning experiences, my concerns, and my expectations of the course. I've always felt very welcome at GoEast and the environment is open and encouraging. My teaher Jennie, has shown immense patience with me over the months, especially on days where I didn't do my homework, and she usually adds in extra words to the lessons that come up in conversation, helping me to express myself on that particular topic. I'd also like to mention how friendly all the other teachers are, and how happy they are to help you with anything that you need. Another thing is that GoEast hold a lot of differnt events through the year and students are always encouraged to come along and try something new. Thank you to everyone at GoEast!

"Best place for private/advance class"

I’ve been in China for the last 8 years. After studying Chinese in Fudan university, and attend to different Chinese classes and hiring out the years, I can say with confidence that there is no better institution than GoEast.
I take private/advance classes with Lynn 老师，you can hardly find some one as good anywhere in the city!

"Superb online school"

I've started a one-to-one online course 4 months ago and I'm really impressed by my progress. I had 'zero' knowledge of Mandarin and now I can understand and speak a little bit. My teacher is simply amazing. She has not only superb human qualities but also an infinite patience. I fell really lucky for having her. There is still a long long way, but I'm sure at the end of the way I'll succeed. I strongly recommend GoEast if you plan to learn Mandarin in a hassle-free way.

I started studying with GoEast when I was living in Shanghai 2017. I enjoyed the small group classes and the community that the school had built around it.

After moving back to Finland I've kept on learning with GoEast's online one-on-one classes. They're great for me, tailored for my needs and very effective. I work irregular hours and also have a kid to look after, so being able to arrange the lessions flexibly has also been very good.

"Professional, fun, practical"

I have been with GoEast for a year, starting at HSK2 level and now at HSK4. I have taken individual private classes and group classes. The teachers are professional and help with practical Chinese, not just textbook Chinese. The classes are fun and my Chinese level has really improved since I started taking classes with them. Highly recommend!

I joined GoEast in 2019 for HSK1 and HSK2 classes. My experience was nothing short of excellent. My instructor had an incredible knowledge of linguistic theory, and she was able to make Chinese accessible to students with no previous experience with the language. Beyond that, Maria and the team were incredibly welcoming and always created a positive environment in which to learn. My experience at GoEast was one of the highlights of my time in Shanghai and I highly recommend their program to anyone looking to improve their Chinese language skills.

I have been taking lessons with Go East for more than 8 months now. I have really enjoyed the classes and I'm really happy with my pace of learning. The instructor, Danni, is phenomenal and the classes are really small and personal. I just started my third class at Go East, the Hanzi course, and I'm making good progress. These classes are the genuinely the highlight of my week - it's rewarding to learn and see my progress, and classes are fun.
