"Best school "
The best teachers. Everyone is so friendly and I had a great experience here. Definitely recommend it to everyone to do the TTC at Yogkulam. The rooms and Yoga halls are very clean like the whole building. There is AC in the yoga halls. Food is delicious. Everyone in the group was happy with this school!

I had an amazing experience here at Rishikesh Yogkulam.
The location felt safe, it’s not in a super busy area and still accessible to shops/cafes.
They kept the space clean. Every breaktime, our classrooms and dining area were cleaned. Our rooms were cleaned in a regular manner as well.
Not only that their instructors were so knowledgeable about Yoga; the correct flow, proper alignment, anatomy and yoga philosophy BUT ALSO, very fun to listen to! I was never bored in class.
The staff was very friendly and helpful! I really felt at home, especially because of thee best manager ever, Nitika.
Rishikesh Yogkulam, thank you for creating such a beautiful atmosphere and humbling experience!

"Amazing 300h YTT at Yogkulam"
After having finished the 300h program some days ago, I am still processing the experience of my 4 weeks at Yogkulam. The program was holistic and deep; on and off the mat. I am beyond grateful for all the learnings and for pushing my limits every day.
We had dedicated teachers for all the different parts of the program; Hatha, Ashtanga, Pranayama, Philosophy, Anatomy, Alignment, Teaching Methods and Meditation. All of the teachers poured in their whole being and taught very authentically. I could take away something for myself from each of them.
The overall facilities were very clean. The whole Yogkulam team put in a lot of efforts to make us feel comfortable at all times. The food was great; overall very nourishing for the hard practice. Whatever question we had, the staff was very helpful and every extra service was charged fairly. Excursions on Sunday were for free and well organized, too. Yogkulam is indeed a school that practices what it preaches when it comes to yogic behavior.
The location of the school is great. Considering the rest of Rishikesh, you have a chilled vibe here. If you want more activity and shops, Laxman Jula is just a 15min walk away. If on the other hand you want to escape into nature, you can start right next to the school and make your way up into the mountains. I personally like this side of the river more than Tapowan, as it is more calm. I really enjoyed the raising sun behind the mountains every morning in Hatha and the sunset during meditation in the evening, plus a quick sun bath at our balcony during the breaks.
Overall, Yogkulam has contributed well to my personal yoga journey. Full of inspiration and empowerment, I look forward to continuing my own practice, deepening my understanding of yoga, and starting to teach. Thanks Yogkulam for showing me what Yoga is all about. Thanks to all the team, teachers, and students; for sharing that profound experience. And thanks for allowing me to meet so many beautiful yoga students with a similar mindset.

"Miscommunication Followed by Defensiveness: A Serious Student’s Review"
I attended the 200hr YTT at Rishikesh Yogkulam in March 2025 and left halfway through due to key parts of the program being miscommunicated or not delivered as advertised. I’m taking the time to write this review in the hope it helps future students make an informed decision.
Before enrolling, I specifically asked whether I could continue my Ashtanga Vinyasa personal practice, and the school responded—direct quote—“Ashtanga is part of the daily schedule and Primary Series is followed.” In reality, the classes did not follow the Primary Series in structure, pace, or content. In the first week, we never reached the finishing sequence, most vinyasas and some asanas were skipped, and classes included frequent breaks. It was a beginner-level, Ashtanga-inspired class—not a led Primary Series practice.
Groupings took no account of students’ prior experience. In one class, there were students with over a decade of practice and teaching experience alongside complete beginners. I understand the challenge of accommodating mixed levels, but it seemed the grouping was done for logistical ease rather than educational value.
Philosophy classes lacked structure and depth, often consisting of personal opinions, vague anecdotes, and factual inaccuracies. In one session, for example, the teacher spent 20 minutes sharing his views on which places in India were worth visiting with no reference to yogic philosophy or history. Foundational yogic texts like the Yoga Sutras were not meaningfully engaged with, and there was no continuity or clear curriculum. Sanskrit was also listed as part of the course, but no formal instruction was provided—only the occasional mention of asana names, as in any drop-in class.
There were also moments where teacher conduct left a bad impression. One teacher frequently made jokes at students’ expense and showed clear favoritism—offering support and hands-on adjustments only to a select few, while ignoring others. In another instance, a teacher became unusually defensive when asked for a second towel, reacting in a way that felt disproportionate and unnecessarily tense. These moments added to an atmosphere that didn’t feel consistently professional, kind, or welcoming.
When I raised these concerns, the response was dismissive and defensive. Rather than acknowledge any miscommunication, the school stated—again, quoting directly—“there was no mention of a daily full Primary Series practice.” This kind of backpedaling and refusal to take accountability was disappointing and left a lasting negative impression.
On the upside, some teachers were genuinely excellent—particularly in pranayama and anatomy—and the facilities were clean and adequate.
If your goal is a relaxed retreat and a certificate, you might be content. But for serious students looking to deepen an existing yoga practice, I recommend asking very specific questions and reading between the lines. The school presents itself well, but in my case, the student experience did not match the image it sells.

"I recently completed my 300-hour Yoga…"
I recently completed my 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Rishikesh Yogkulam, and it was a truly life-changing experience. The program was deeply immersive and thoughtfully structured, offering a profound exploration of yoga far beyond the physical practice. The teaching team was exceptional — each instructor brought not only deep expertise in their field, whether it was philosophy, anatomy, pranayama, or asana, but also a remarkable ability to transmit knowledge with clarity, humility, and authenticity. The training pushed me intellectually, physically, and emotionally, and helped me refine my teaching skills with confidence, creativity, and a deeper sense of purpose. The environment in Rishikesh — nestled between the forest and the sacred Ganges — was peaceful and spiritually charged, providing the perfect setting for introspection and growth. The accommodation was comfortable, the food was nourishing and sattvic, and the entire staff created a space of kindness, safety, and support. One of the highlights was the strong, diverse, and compassionate community that formed among students and teachers alike, making every moment rich with connection and meaning. I leave this training not only with a certification but with a transformed perspective, a more embodied yoga practice, and a heart full of gratitude. I highly recommend Rishikesh Yogkulam to anyone seeking an authentic, holistic, and empowering yoga journey.

"Life changing, transformative experience. "
I came to Yogkulam for my 200 hours YTT in January and within the first few days of the course I instantly knew I wanted to be here for my 300 hours as well. I just completed the 300 hours YTT (March 2025) and I am so incredibly grateful for my time here!
I can’t express how much this time meant for me. As an aspiring yoga teacher it was important for me to train and learn and have a full experience learning yoga in a wholistic manner. I can’t express in words how transformative the experience at Yogkulam was. The teachers guided the classes with immense wisdom in their subjects. I felt cared for not only in my studies but in my practice.
I feel well prepared to Perdue my yoga teacher path after my time here. I am so grateful to have had the chance to learn yoga from all aspects: asanas, pranayama, meditation, theory, teaching methodology….
I feel like my knowledge and my personal practice have deepened so much.
Thank you yogkulam family. Namaste and see you again!
