Experience was very smooth from the beginning. I was contacted after requesting a quote and I got assigned an accountant for a first call. Niall was very patient and explained everything and answered all my questions to be sure I was happy with the process. Their website says - ''whatever your situation with shares and share options, your local TaxAssist Accountant can meet with you and prepare your tax returns''. Unfortunately, as it turned out - that's very misleading, as they refused to take the job after making a series of excuses (in the end it was due to 'capacity issues'). Also, the accountant said that he wasn't going to check individual transactions, but if that's the case - how would they make sure that all the correct rules, such as FIFO are applied? I had high hopes after reading the positive reviews, but ended up being confused and disappointed. Can't recommend these guys at all.

Engaged tax assist to complete my 2024 taxes this year, was very unhappy with thier service. Contacted them in September and got an October consultation, meeting went will and so far so good. They requested additional details which were provided in the agreed time frame and they had indicated that they would meet the October deadline. I would have been happy if they followed through but they proceeded to miss that deadline and the online November deadline. This was despite my attempts to contact them. When they finally replied the day after the November deadline there was no explanation as to what went wrong. I then terminated the agreement and will have to engage a different accountant to complete this. Overall the level of communication was not at a level I would expect and the lack of any kind of apology/explanation really annoyed me. I'm sure that they can do good work but in this instance I was not happy.
