"Very poor delivery service"

Very poor delivery service: After receiving email confirming delivery between 7 & 9:30pm, I reorganised my day and went out, only to receive a text that it had already been delivered at 12:49 (more than 6hrs early - WHEN I WAS OUT) and that it was left in my porch - I don't have a porch! Ie it was left outside my house visible to all the very many passers to see (steal?) and exposed to the elements. I had to cut my day short and rush home to prevent my package from being stolen/damaged.

I suppose I should count myself lucky, at least this time Hermes delivered it to the correct road and house, unlike last time. Why is it that only Hermes does this? I get lots of deliveries... there is always one... and its Hermes who wins the prize every time.

As a trader, why use a delivery service that makes promises for you that are not then kept and risk you having to solve the resulting issues and dissatisfaction? If the product gets stolen or damaged as part of the delivery, a good product and price turns into a damaged reputation...and ultimately a failed business.
