I just graduated from the Professional Photography Course (PPC) at LIOP and think it was brilliant. The content across the 10 modules, well thought out materials, photographer references, opportunities to grow, expertise from every tutor (who are current, working photographers themselves) - all great. The most impressive part is the mentoring each student receives. I do not believe there's another course out there providing this type of invaluable advice. Holger's knowledge is truly impressive. He shares this with students throughout the PPC and strives to help every student to success. I feel its given me the best platform to kick off my life as a freelance photographer.

"LIoP Flexible PPC"

I began the flexible PPC a year ago, knowing practically nothing about what makes a good photograph. One year on, I now have a solid grounding in the core photography genres and post-production processes. I feel incredibly grateful to all the course tutors and, in particular, to course director Holger Pooten, who is a truly dedicated mentor and coach. It is a demanding course, and you will be pushed to your limits to achieve your potential, but it is well worth it.

I thoroughly enjoyed the course and I’d love to do it all again! I’ve learned so much and I’m looking forward to doing lots of test shoots & projects.

I’ll now have some time to read through all of the presentations to recap on everything and take time to practice using Lightroom & Photoshop.

I’ve wanted to be a photographer ever since I was a teenager but it always seemed so out of reach. You’ve helped me believe it could be a reality and that’s so exciting.

This course has changed the way I look at photography and made me a better photographer. I began with a good understanding of how to use a camera and create my own work, but this course took my skills and knowledge to the next level. The teachers are desperately supportive and inspiring with a real 'on the ground' understanding of the work load, how to market yourself, who to call and how to get started in the professional world. I could not recommend this course enough for beginner, amateur/professional, the PPC really helped reignite my love for photography.

The Professional Photography Course (PPC) at LIoP is honestly the most comprehensive and practically equipping course for anyone looking to become a professional photographer. There is nothing like it anywhere else in the UK. I constantly found that I was learning more than I expected, and the course design really enables each student to explore and gain practical experience in the most sought after areas of photography, and set them up for professional practice in whichever area they choose to focus. Even before I completed the course, I had gained the skills to set up my own shoots, engage with model agencies and studios, and assist on a professional shoot.

As well as the course itself being hugely informative and applicable, Holger and his team are all so warm, helpful and insightful. They really encourage each student to reach out with any questions they have, and will provide great direction and advice. I'm so happy that I took the leap and signed up for PPC. It has really put me in the best position to move forward in the world of photography with confidence.

The course was absolutely life changing. I now feel so equipped to enter the world of professional photography and I have really come to understand my own style and vision as an individual photographer.

Each module enhanced my technical knowledge hugely but was also artistically inspiring. We learnt a breadth of skills and then were given time and support to develop our own concept and therefore express our own identity as photographers in each module. All our final outcomes were completely different but based on the knowledge we were given.

I would thoroughly recommend the full Professional Photography Course as this is where you can really push yourself and build on your individual style during and after these modules and learn how to flourish independently as a creative. The advice and mentoring sessions received from Holger were invaluable and have helped me understand my own style and build my confidence in it. The PPC allows you to truly connect the dots between all the skills you have learnt. You also leave with a professional website and portfolio. Giving you the confidence to enter the world of professional photography.

Holger and the whole team are experts in their field and so generous with their knowledge. Holger went above and beyond to support his students in and out of hours. He has built an incredibly supportive community as well as a school.

I would highly recommend this course not only for its generous technical and professional expertise in photography but for its creative inspiration and community atmosphere. I’m extremely grateful to Holger and the team and will definitely consider PPC 2!!

"LIOP Still Life course"

I enjoyed the 4 day Still Life course. It was 'well-paced' with just the right amount of detail. The instructor was very knowledgable, enthusiastic and helpful. The course covered professional lighting set-ups and the various techniques uses to capture Still Life. The final day was an exciting project as chosen by the individual students which pulled everything together and produced professional images. I can absolutely recommend the course
