Shipsurance claims are very easy to make. For simple claims (item lost in the mail, or item broken beyond repair) you just have to supply a receipt showing the value, and photos showing damage (if that is the problem) and your customer has an easy form to fill out verifying the item was either lost or damaged, and in a few days you get a pay-out. And they can pa through PayPal which is very convenient. Easier than filing a USPS insurance claim.

Package was lost in France and they refuse to pay, global shipping drop the ball and we paid for insurance. Shipsurance refused to pay, never use them again. Dragged out the claim for months. Do not use them, it's cheaper to self insure your own packages.

This company is a scam. It is the default insurance on Etsy and they should drop them and let us choose another company, even USPS insurance is better.
My buyer received a damaged item, they asked me for documentation and pictures which I sent, after that they kept asking me for more documentation and pictures (this was 3 days after opening the case), they asked for things they didn't ask initially like pictures of every side of the damaged box and obviously the buyer didn't have the box by that time.
Since then I avoid paying for extra insurance with this company.
UPDATE because they "replied" . They asked for initial photos yes, but not the same photos until 3 days later when they did on purpose knowing people will likely get rid of the package by then. YES this is a scam, avoid this company at all costs.

Best Insurance Company. They are very responsive on claims submitted, it takes only a few days. The intergraded website with all submitted claims is awesome, easy and fast. I recommend them 100 % to all you guys are awesome!

Key is having photographs of the item as it was packed. And then after when it was received showing all sides of box, label and inside as it was opened by the recipient. Shipsurance website pretty easy to follow although, at one stage it does ask for you to provide information but it does not give you a way to give the information it asked for back to them - so that part is a little disconcerting. But overall, easy and clear instructions. So far a very good and satisfying experience.
