Shipsurance may offer lower rates than those of what you are currently paying as we found out for ourselves but we've also come to find that paying extra is a true value when you compare the kind of service you'll receive from companies like Shipsurance.
Seem to me that Shipsurance will do whatever it takes to delay the processing of claims as mentioned in so many other reviews. And there customer service is beyond terrible. I've filed a claim for $40 on a domestic package that hasn't moved in 2 weeks and Emma R at Shipsurance seems to think this is a delay due to COVID-19 which is false when the USPS tell you that they are operating at regular capacity in the area.
Emma R also make it a point to go out of her way to patronize you and to make you think that you are clueless as to what their company covers. When a package hasn't had any movement in over 2 weeks and the USPS hub can't find it, ITS LOST!
Bottom line....PAY THE EXTRA FEES to your existing vendors and avoid these cheap companies like Shipsurance. It's ironic to think that I read all those other reviews and thought, "can't be that bad and maybe it's the customer's who are overreacting" but now that I am experiencing the same issues and even with the same person that is listed on so many reviews (Emma R), makes me realize that cheaper is not better.

I advice everyone to think before they use this company. I shipped a package and purchased insurance with this unresponsive non sense company Shipsurance. The package arrived to the customer broken filed a claim and uploaded all they ask me for it you can look at the bottom of this message the claim history also made a phone call to this non sense company and talk to the supervisor and she advise me to contact the customer for a pictures of the package wish the customer opened and threw it send me pictures of the damage and contacted Shipsurance and told them the customer threw the package the advice me to take close shot and upload the message wish I did and they came back and said case closed because i never provide the with the info they needed wish is a lie if everyone please see as I stated before at the bottom of this message that I have done everything they needed but still they denied my claim. And someone may get back to me from Shipsurance saying thank you for one star review I will answer you I wish there is less than one star i will posted. if they don't honor my claim I will file small court a claim against this company and I wish everyone else do the same.

Just to let everyone know that I have forwarded all the information they have requested but still they denied my claim I think the person handling my claim her name Emma when I call and hear my name she don’t want to talk to me I do not know why even if I leave message she will not call back. It looks like I need to file small claim court against this company that is my last option.

Let me start off by saying we are a large company that ships hundreds of packages daily. We use tape that has our company name on it. They would not cover a claim because of this. Basically, you need to ship in a plain brown box with nothing (I guess even the shipping label as well) that has your name on it. What a waste of time and money spent. Do not purchase insurance with them as they will try whatever excuse to not cover anything. Basically, you are giving your money away by using them. There are better options out there for companies.

We buy insurance for our packages at shipsurance for a year. Everything is good! We had 6 insurance damaged claims that were closed quickly and we've got compensation.

This is the worst insurance company i have ever worked with. My shipment was lost in February and still they are not ready to process the insurance claim. Worst worst worst policy. You better look for other insurance company if you want to ensure the shipment is safe.

"Get REAL insurance!"
USPS includes free insurance for priority mail shipments. That's great, but most people...including us..say they refuse to pay legitimate claims. Just try and collect! We have been aware of this for a very long time and have been purchasing our insurance coverage from "Shipsurance" a private insurer for many many years. This company has treated us the way an insured customer should be treated and we have never had an issue with any legitimate claim...ever. Insurance from USPS is a joke and a complete waste of money. Too bad but true. Go with Shipsurance and you really ARE covered!
