"CAT Performance Driver Day...Amazing!!"

I shared a day's performance driver training with my dad and couldn't have asked for a better experience! Paul was amazing at explaining how things worked and the best way to approach different aspects of driving. I then developed on what he had taught me during the day to give me a better understanding of my car, as well as improve my own ability. I have come away being able to drive more safely and confidently and I can't thank Paul enough.

The whole process from booking to receiving my certificate afterwards has been a pleasure and I would definitely recommend this course to anyone wanting some really professional tuition from a really friendly team!

I will be going back for more training in the future! Thanks again to Paul and the team!!

I had a CAT driver training day and thoroughly enjoyed it! My overall confidence on the road has improved in just the one day I spent there. I learnt how to be safer on the road and also how to handle my car better. These guys know their stuff!

"Three months & 3000 miles later..."

Three months on from the training day I spent with Paul I can honestly say this has changed my driving experience. I took the course as had just purchased a 5.0 V8 Mustang with the intention of taking a European Road Trip. I realised I knew how to drive fast but not how to competently handle a car at this level of performance.
The course completely prepared me for every eventuality I encountered during my road trip, which took in 2500 miles and 8 countries; I drove safer and more confidently as a result. Navigating challenges from the winding roads of the Alps to the sheer speed of the AutoBahn.
Paul the instructor gave me complete confidence on the day to push my vehicle to the limit of its capabilities in order to fully understand how safely and confidently I could drive. I would recommend this course unreservedly, not only was it a very enjoyable days driving (a friend took his car also) but I learnt so much about the car, myself and the road in general. This is NOT a track day, anyone can sign up for those. This a course for serious drivers of performance vehicles who want to enjoy the performance of their own car but feel at ease in the knowledge they can avoid/get themselves out of trouble. 5 stars awarded without reservation and we are already planning to come back for another course, it's addictive.

"Ridiculous Fun, all while learning from the best!"

I had a brilliant day with Colin doing the Day 1 - Performance Driver Training, the course is perfectly structured to help you build skills and confidence with clear demonstrations and explanations of the theory and engineering behind it all.

I've never done anything like this before so was a little hesitant at the cost...it seemed like a lot for 1 day and there was so much to cover, the 'what ifs' kept playing on my mind...'what if I couldn't take it all onboard?'... 'what if I'm just not very good!?... 'what if I make the Instructor vomit?!!'..ya know the "usual concerns"... well those doubts vanished pretty damn quick, its evident on arrival that the CAT Team are passionate about what they do and the professionalism and maturity of how they deliver on their promise is nothing short of impressive. The whole day is about what you want from it and they adapt to your learning style. In short [too late] its worth every penny.

Millbrook Proving Ground is fantastic; its so well organised that it feels like you have the place to yourself, there's no waiting around or worrying about traffic, which means you can concentrate on learning what you and your car are capable of.

Taking my v8 around the High Speed Bowl and Handling Track was ridiculous fun and no one vomited... but by far the biggest take away from the day was practicing accident avoidance, steering dynamics and high speed braking techniques; its reassuring to have had this experience in total safety with an excellent Instructor.

I left with renewed enthusiasm for driving (even the mundane commute just got more interesting) and a very very big GRIN.

"Very useful"

Very useful, learnt lots of new skill which I am still using today, and sub consciously seeing hazards and thinking of avoiding them before I am faced with that problem and using single input steering at all opportunities.

"Great Day out, solidified what I 'thought' I knew and taught me what I didn't..."

A group of us from the same car club recently spent a day with CAT DT. It was an amazing day (my wife might see this so I can't possibly comment that it was better than our wedding).
The Millbrook facility is just jaw dropping impressive and the CAT team themselves were friendly and super organized.
However the most impressive things were the technical briefings we got before each event so we knew WHY the cars were going to do what they were about to do and then how our instructors tailored each session to make sure we got what we wanted out of each component.
If I had no idea about something we started from basics, if I sort of knew a bit we built on that.
And they have nailed the three most critical things. Safety, teaching and fun..!

I will definitely be back...

"Performance driver course"

Hi Jo, Wanted to drop you a line to say how much I enjoyed my half day performance driving I had yesterday. Good service all round and the training more than surpassed my expectations. Colin is a great teacher and was very patient explaining where I had gone wrong with my sometimes ham fisted efforts. He really inspires confidence in getting more out of the car.
A brilliant day and I am looking forward to booking more days.

Absolutely loved it. Everything we did helped teach or reinforce a useful lesson in a massively grin inducing fashion.

The high speed bowl was great. Colin asked me how it was as I dropped down from the outer ring (next to the barrier!) to the successively slower rings. I said ‘sweaty!’ 😄

Loved the roundabout runs/drifting/whatever it’s called. Sports+ and PSM off, modulating steering and throttle in the dry - great, safe fun.

Handling circuit - I didn’t know my car could grip like that - even with my soon to be outed Potenzas fitted!

Absolutely recommend this to anyone and I will do the next day in the course series for sure.

Thanks to you guys who came along and all enjoyed as much as me - big grins all day all round.

And thanks to the weather - rain in the morning and blazing sunshine in the afternoon so we got to experience different tracks in different conditions which actually worked really well
