"Make your next MTB upgrade a skills upgrade with Single Track School"

I attended the Fast-track Singletrack Skills course on 25th-26th August 2018. From my first contact with Single Track School I was impressed by a thoroughly professional approach guiding me to the right course and putting me at ease. The skills weekend was excellent with clear explanations that included the 'Why' as well as the 'What and How'. Through gradually building up from the basic elements by the end of the second day I was comfortably enjoying a level of single track mountain biking I would not have dreamt of attempting just two days earlier. Danielle - was our coach. She was excellent at taking each participant out of their comfort zone in a structured and safe way ensuring we all progressed. There is much truth in the saying that "Life begins outside the comfort zone'. If you are thinking of enrolling in one of single track schools courses just do it. The best upgrade for any mountain bike/er is a skills upgrade with Single track school.

"Finding my flow"

I did a one day "improver" course a few weeks ago with Danielle,
The course itself is structured very well, and Danielle herself is amazing at her job.

2 years of bad habits ironed out, and lots of riding to do in order to improve my flow.
Will be back for the "roots n rocks" in a few months.

Anyone sitting on the fence? Book it, you wont regret it. (Get to the venue on time, optionally take out "cancelation insurance" to avoid any stress...

"Did the SingleTrack Improver course…"

Did the SingleTrack Improver course (with 2 mates) on Sunday last week. Danielle, course leader, was hugely knowledgeable, skilled and experienced in coaching, really helping us improve our technique in manuals, cornering and braking. Then did a guided ride around the Surrey Hills which was excellent. A brilliant day out on the bike with plenty to practice and improve!

You can teach an old dog new tricks, I've been riding 30 years and I still learnt plenty, the course was well organised, the routines well thought out and well explained, feedback was informative and helpful

"Singletrack Fundamentals course"

Having just completed the London to Brighton off Road challenge and discovered the Surrey Hills area, I decided I'd like to discover more of this area.
The only problem was I was new to mountain biking and realised I need some Lessons.
Having searched the internet, I came across the company Singletrack School , which carries out its courses in this area.
I contacted them by email which they responded to straight away, and I was booked onto the next Singletrack Fundamentals course.
Danielle emailed me all the information about the course and any forms that I need to fill in and send back, which you will need to complete before you can ride.
Make sure you read through them carefully and bring all the stuff they ask you to.
The day arrived and I found my way to Holmbury Youth Hostel car park, which is one of there meeting points. Please give yourself plenty of time to get there as the instructors cannot hang around waiting for late arrivals!! It's not fair on the other participants on the course.
Danielle was taking the course and she provided coffee tea and energy snacks on arrival, if your on time which we all were.
The day started off checking our bikes were all in good working order and the benefits of tyre pressures, all of which I found very informative.
We then head off to an area on one of the fire roads , where the practical side of the lesson started.
Danielle talked as through all the core basic fundamental techniques of mountain biking, like the ready position, effective braking, tackling small obstacles, controlling your bike in turns and down hill, efficient riding and the list goes on.
After each subject we put it into practice, not always successfully but with a lot of enthusiasm.
By the end of the lesson we all had progress and were looking forward to putting are new skills to the test in the afternoon.
Danielle had worked really hard to make the morning enjoyable and informative and was a great instructor.
We had a lunch break, bring your own sarnies and then headed off to tackle some trails.
I had a fantastic afternoon riding the trails, trying to put my new found skills to the test.

Overall I had great day thanks to Danielle and would recommend anybody starting out mountain biking to get on one of there courses, before you build to many bad habits in to your riding.
I've enjoyed it so much that I ride once or twice a week with Horsham Mountain Bike Club in the area.
I will also be going back for the in the spring to do the Skills weekend course.

"Weird"

Unfortunately I was too ill to attend, and was treated rudely when I asked if it was possible to reschedule, and lost the money.

My friend, who I was supposed to be going with still went, and described riding around traffic cones in a car park for 3 hours before going anywhere near singletrack. He described it as weird and said I was lucky to miss it.

Wouldn't recommend it.
