"Scammers selling “lifetime” storage"
They sold me a lifetime cloud storage subscription and now suddenly tell us that they are ending the Zoolz Home service and you only have 14 days to retrieve your files. How is that lifetime!?
Hyperactive Lazy
"Zoolz = scam, thieves, dishonest, liars."
My family bought 3 lifetime subscriptions a little over a year ago and now they are canceling the service with no refunds and only giving 15 days to recover their files through a service that no longer works. We have already contacted Zoolz and they replied with a lot of lies, as they always reply with the same message here. They have advertised and sold their lifetime offers on many sites over the past few years, but it was clearly a scam because now they are just renaming all services to "business" and if you want to keep your files you have to pay monthly. They will only refund a tiny percentage of their customers, Zoolz and its owners simply stole the money from all the other customers. Never buy anything that has to do with Zoolz, BigMIND, or the people who own them. This is no mere disservice, they are dishonest.

"Whatever it takes to get people to pay them more money"
During my time using zoolz as a lifetime account holder, often the scheduled backup wouldn't run and I would have to periodically check and force it to run off-schedule. Backup and restore was often a bit slow.
I can understand lifetime meaning lifetime of the service (not the users lifetime) although their responses to other users indicate that lifetime did indeed mean lifetime of the user (see below). While frustrating that my lifetime account is being deleted unless I subscribe to a monthly plan, what angers me most is that they seem to be doing everything they can to force users to sub if they want to get their data.
First, they removed the download button from their website, however up until 10/6/2020 you could still click on a file or drag the file to a folder on your pc and download it from the website. This has now been disabled and the only option to get your files is through their app that will sit for days at 0% because all home and lifetime users share the same bandwidth.
What makes this even worse is they are only giving users until 10/15/2020 to get any data they want before it's all deleted. I am almost tempted to sub for a month to get my files followed by an immediate chargeback from my credit card.
I will be looking into a class action suit against them.
Check out their response to this user's review just before their announcement of home account cancellation:

Forcing lifetime accounts to pay
Screw them! I paid a lifetime account and now they force those users to pay.
Bye zoolz!

Hi Karl,
You are not obliged to pay anything and your service will continue to be accessible and working for life.
Best regards,
Zoolz Team
*Update - More shenanigans!*
So I've been watching task and resource manager closely because zoolz restore kept freezing on me. I upped the priority to stop it from hanging and found that If your restore is going to take longer than 12 hours to start, then you won't get your files. Why? because zoolz restore will log you out and not notify you. While restore is running and getting the files ready, it should be using about 3k send and receive B/sec in bandwidth. When it drops to 100-200 B/sec, restore has logged you out and you must abort your restore and log back in.

"No longer upset"
The "Lifetime Plan" for me was about 18 months. I wrote to Zoolz to complain (also to the site that promoted the plan and also to a featured Zoolz client in the United States). This morning I received an apology e-mail (perhaps all Lifetime clients did) that offers "two free years of business." While my experience is that "lifetime" rarely means exactly that--I definitely expect it to mean an extended period of time. Having received a better explanation, apology, and the offer--I am no longer upset. Although, I certainly don't expect everyone to feel that way. (I am sure the complaints on this site were duly noted.)

"Zoolz is a big scam - a bunch of dishonests and fraudsters"
Zoolz is a big scam. A dishonest company. Stay away. They are here to rip you off. They are a bunch of thieves.
In the name of lifetime storage they are about to complete their planned exploitation of a huge number of people. First they discontinued their instant downloading options, then they have prohibited downloading large file by introducing various hurdles then at last they are discontinuing the service altogether. They have given 2 weeks time to download which will be never possible for anybody given not only the fact that their usual download options were never really stress free but also they have currently disabled download button. Huh! what a joke. They are not begging for money they are keeping our files as hostages and asking for ransom.
This is absolutely unethical and unlawful. They can not hold their customer's data like this and disallow to even download, forget about violation of lifetime terms. They must be sued!

"My restore has been running now for 6…"
My restore has been running now for 6 days and it’s still calculating. How on earth is 14 days notice suitable and sufficient!! Watch out for the standard response below and yes I did email the restore zoolz team email 6 days ago. Words fail me. Please add me to any class action.

"Service canceled"
I bought the service for lifetime. But now this service is no longer offered and I would have to switch to the business version, which costs per year. They offer a discount of 90%.Basically this is not a bad offer but I don't want to buy services from a company that suddenly terminates the service. And only gives the customer a relatively short time to decide how to proceed.

"No cumplen con lo ofrecido"
Yo compre una oferta de 2 Tera de por vida, después de unos meses me bajaron la cuenta a 1 tera.
Ahora me obligan a cambiar la cuenta a empresarial o buscar otro servicio, ya que dan de baja las cuentas personales con un preaviso de tan solo 15 días.
Para poder buscar alternativas y hacer un nuevo backup, realmente es muy poco tiempo.
Realmente poca seriedad.

"Unprofessionel scammers"
Took my money for a lifetime product and closed the service after 1½ years.
This is a scam company, and I will give them negative reviews always.
