Carloans 365 offer funding through the sub-prime lenders which tend to favour individuals that suffer in getting credit. I will only review on my recent dealings with them.

My wife is a homemaker and the money that enters her account is through benefits as she doesn't work due to looking after our children that have needs, meaning at this stage she cannot work. She likes to stand on her own two feet and is about to pass her test (current provisional, something Carloans 365 also say they support, as some lenders only accept full UK licence). She wanted to get her own car/finance/insurance etc. and start building a credit history with out me stepping in as I am fully employed etc. She approached Carloans 365 because of their advertising and that they support in finding finance for people like her. She gave all the details asked for and was open and honest with everything. When speaking with one of the sales people (I won't name names) she was "Advised/Told" she was pre-approved up to a certain £ level and to start looking for a car. Carloans 365 also offered vehicles though the garages they deal with to help with the search... All good stuff!

We then find her the car with a garage Carloans deal with and start the process of arranging the finance. Here is were the issue is! all of the information previously provided is then passed to the finance company to run the "hard search" as they had only previously run a "soft search". My wife got turned down even after handing over bank statements to show affordability. As you could imagine very deflated wife! I then had to come in as lead loan applicant to get the deal over the line. The issue here is it sits on my credit file, the car is in my name and the insurance is in my name with my wife now as lead driver. Everything she was looking for gone other than still being able to get the car (now in my name).

Was it Carloans 365 fault.... No not exactly as they are simply a broker and the finance companies will always have the last say.

Here is my warning - be very careful when they say you are "pre-approved" you are not. Your circumstance may satisfy for their panel of lenders (also know as the soft search) but the lenders will always have the last say when your details go through the final finance checks (also known as the hard search).

In my opinion Carloans 365 need to change their language as "pre-approved" leads people to believe that this is an acceptance or the final stage is just a formality and its not. People are then going and looking for the right vehicle (the exciting part!), as you are pre-approved for the finance. Only to find at the last hurdle it fails and you are left with nothing.

In our case we could sort it out as I was always prepared to sort the finance for my wife but I know others will not have similar circumstances as us for me to be able to support her in this way.

I applied for my loan on the Wednesday evening by Thursday it was in place. Chose my car at the weekend and today, Tuesday, money has been confirmed and transferred to the car dealership. Picking car up this afternoon.
Pedro was my advisor, he was an absolute star, kept me informed of what was happening every step of the way and replied to all my texts. My credit rating is only in the five hundreds so I was really grateful to find a company that were willing to be give me a loan and not at an extortionate apr either.
If in doubt, ring car loan 365 ask to speak to Pedro and he will talk you through everything, clearly and honestly. You won’t regret it.
