"Misleading Information on Local Phone Numbers"

I recently decided to try out Gigago, an eSIM provider that claims to offer convenient and cost-effective solutions for travelers needing local phone numbers. However, my experience with Gigago has been far from satisfactory due to misleading information on their website, specifically regarding the provision of local phone numbers.

Gigago's website prominently advertises that users can obtain local phone numbers easily with their eSIM service. This feature was a major selling point for me, as having a local number is crucial for seamless communication and avoiding hefty roaming charges while traveling. However, upon purchasing and activating the eSIM, I discovered that the promise of local phone numbers was not as straightforward as advertised.

When Gigago does provide a local phone number, it does not necessarily mean you will receive a local phone number for the country you purchased the eSIM for. Instead, you might receive a phone number from any other country, which defeats the purpose of having a local number for the specific country you are traveling to. This aspect of their service is misleading and can cause significant confusion and inconvenience.

I cannot recommend Gigago due to their misleading claims about providing local phone numbers. Travelers looking for a dependable eSIM provider should look elsewhere to avoid the frustrations I experienced.

"Good for South East Asia but not Vietnam "

I purchased a 30-day multi country eSIM from Gigago to use in Indonesia and Singapore. It worked flawlessly from activation to switching in different countries. The internet speed and coverage was good. I didn’t need to contact support at all.

I then purchased 16-Day Vietnam eSIM from them. Followed the instructions but the eSIM didn’t work. I contacted support who was able to help but that wasted some of my time waiting for the response. Few days later, it stopped working again. After contacting support they mentioned that my 10GB was used. This is very odd because it will take tremendous effort to finish 10GB in few days especially when I was on wifi for most of the time. I also never came close to reaching 10GB in any month including the previous month when I was using their multi country eSIM and my usage rate didn’t increase at all during the last few days.

Anyways, I switched to another provider and similar issues with activation is happening. So it seems like eSIMs in Vietnam are unreliable and one should opt for a physical SIM card instead.

"Great coverage with China Telecom"

The eSIM works perfectly, took about 30 seconds to get working and as soon as I entered China I had totally internet.

I bought this one because it has great coverage through China Telecom in Yunnan province. Many of the cheaper eSIMS only work in the big cities with China Unicom which has less coverage in wilder and more remote places.

It really does work as though you are outside China. Using WiFi in hotels is a pain because you always have to use a VPN to access most services. I have a Google Pixel phone and with Google being banned in China along with many other services it was a relief that this eSIM worked so well.

I used it as a hotspot with my laptop which was also great.
