"Highly recommended"

Highly recommended if you are in the market for secondary glazing. As already mentioned by another reviewer, this is not cheap but that is the nature of the product & service being provided. It needs to be viewed as a longer term investment albeit the benefits will be appreciated immediately - thermal improvement and noise reduction.

The product itself is a conservationist's dream - you would hardly notice it once installed. Very impressive in that sense and truly meets the standard of "minimalist intervention". In fact, we sought and achieved listed building consent even though there is a strong argument that the product is "temporary" in nature. It was nice to get the Local Authority's formal approval though.

The secondary glazing panels are fitted (via magnetic strips) directly on to the window frames - in my case one panel fitted to each sash of a typical window. This means the sashes themselves need to re-weighted to take the additional weight. Furthermore, the secondary glazing is dependent on the window-frames & sashes being properly draft-sealed (& vice versa), so in my case there was a not insignificant element of time & expense on the draft-proofing of the window frames themselves.

Mitchell & Dickinson themselves are professional and courteous. Everything was well planned and programmed in advance and, as such, the job progressed accordingly. Their quotation was very transparent and well costed so there was no arguments over what was and was not done as the job progressed. To their credit, they returned to touch up a few items after the job had been completed and went out of their way to ensure I was satisfied with the end product.

"Not cheap but high quality work and very pleased with the outcome"

They renovated nine large sash windows and installed secondary glazing in my top floor apartment in a grade II listed building opposite a Cathedral. They did a great job and were actually recommended by a lady in the council's listed buildings department. High quality of work and there has been a noticeable reduction in external noise and heat loss. It wasn't a cheap exercise but I'm sure it'll be recovered in reduced energy bills and on an increased value of the apartment. The work did cause some disturbance which I suppose was to be expected, but I would definitely recommend them.

"Secondary glazing for a listed cottage"

This is an excellent product, does a great job of insulation and looks good. The standard of workmanship is excellent and the guys who came on site were skilled, hardworking and polite. The overall standard of customer service was first class. The product isn't cheap, but it is excellent value for money.
