"I have had 2 loans with amigo"
I have had 2 loans with amigo. The first was administered with no issues apart from the extortionate interest charged.
The 2nd was a top up where the 1st was settled and an additional amount was credited to my account. This took place in August 2015 to tune of £6500 over 5 years with a payment of £256.91. Thats £15414 total return for amigo. Why is did this i have no idea. Guess desperate at the time. But this is where the problems start.
Near the beginning of this loan I had to move the payment date by 2 weeks. When doing this online they do tell you that this move will add interest. At the time the text said, if I remember correctly around £250. What they dont tell you is this interest is added to the capitol balance making this higher and over the term of the loan accrued more interest extending the loan term by over 5 months. I did make a complaint. They did reply with a load of dribble about this was in the T & Cs and I have no claim or right to dispute and the complaint is closed.
As I did not have the funds to clear the loan and was in no state of mind to dispute further I carried on with my payments, never late or missing a payment.
Now COVID hits, so I call amigo and due to high demands find it impossible to get through. I fill in the online assessment form amd in the beginning they are very helpful and suspend payments for 6 months.
Great I think. Lockdown is eased I get back to work and all is good. Then lockdown 2 hits. This time Amigo are no help! Again I email them and get a call back. They agreed to accept £100 payment for 1 month and then spread £157 of arrears over the remaining payments. The advisor told me as the arrears were under 1 month they would not contact my garauntor or issue a default. So I agreed with thanks.
They then did not take the £100 payment and blamed me for a declined card payment. To which I can evidence the funds were available. Rather than contact me and offer a solution or ask me to make the payment online they send threatening letters and emails almost immediately.
In further contact they demand that I call them as they are to busy to call me and are open 9 to 5 weekdays and 9 to 1 Saturday. I offered to call on my next day off as my working hours are longer and unable to call in work time.
The barrage of threatening emails continued from Eleanor Bugh. Who told me that I had 14 days to clear the arrears of £157 OR THEY WOULD ISSUE DEFAULT AND COLLECT FROM GARAUNTOR.
This was a direct contradiction from what had been agreed with previous advisors, but again I was told in no uncertain terms all her colleagues were wrong and she was right. As my garauntor has severe health issues and today has gone to hospital to have a cancerous tumor removed I did not want the stress passed to them so i have had to borrow money to pay £157.
THIS COMPANY ARE NOTHING BUT ROBBERS PRAYING ON THE VUNRABLE WITH EXTORTIONATE INTEREST RATES!
AVOID if you can there are now much better, lower interest options if you to borrow money.
Interest cap!
Payments made 55 x £256.91 = £14130.05
Plus additional payment of £260.00
Balance still owed £2774.04
Total payable £17164.09
Original total agreement £15414.60
So this equates to an additional £1749.49 to move a payment date 2 weeks over a 5 year term on a £6500 loan.
I cant wait to hear the tv/radio Commercial 'have you ever had an amigo loan, if so call to discuss your claim on overcharged interest' it happened to the banks it will happen to amigo if they dont go bust first!

"Avoid at all costs!!!!"
I took a loan out from amigos and made an affordability complain in June got a response in August saying that they have upheld my first loan as it was not affordable but refused to uphold my top up loan which does not make any sense as my circumstances were the same when i took out the first loan.
I sent my complaint to the F.O.S on the 24th of August everytime
I ring F.O.S they say amigos have still not sent your file across to them.
I have rang amigos several times but they keep dodging this matter.
A company to avoid at all costs. Not happy with the service at all.

"0 stars."
0 stars.
Dont use them.
Ruined my life. It will take me YEARS to get back on my feet again. I was a guarantor for someone that bullied me into it, taking full advantage of me not being in the right frame of mind as my dad was murdered.
She missed all payment and amigo loans are so happy to harass me. Again and again and again.
They pushed me to suicide several times.
Tom from amigo loans heard me cry and scream for an hour. A complete hour and still said I have to pay after explaining how I just can't because of my reduced hours due to covid.
Why? Why did you even bother asking me about my depression? Even worse they called the police on me embarrassing me in front of my family and street. I need my money back. I want to start my life. I want to move on.
They blocked all my twitter accounts because they can't handle the truth that they took advantage of someone that was vulnerable.
That one hour with Tom was the last straw and I paid the whole loan off on my credit card. I will be paying that off till my 40's as long as I don't have to deal with the horrible disgusting people from amigo.
How do the people of amigo loans live with themselves.
And the fake 5 star reviews are hilarious.

"Help me please this was a massive con"
Hi my name is Sebastian Lacey and I took a 6,000 loan out a few years ago and by next year I will of paid back close to 14,000 back!! I feel sick I’ve complained via email and I get nothing back. I am now in contact with resolver and believe they have helped me contact amigo but they don’t reply! It’s been nearly two months since i emailed. It’s nearly lost me my house , car all because of how much interest I’ve been paying. It’s affected my mental health I have anxiety over it. It should never of been advertised as such a positive and easy lender due to my circumstances I’ve had to borrow from family to pay them. I’ve spoken to citezens advice and they are supporting me on what to do next. I think we should be entitled to most if not all of our interest back. I understand you should pay what you owe but this is disgusting and I’m going to fight this all the way. That loan should never of been given to me and now I’m burdened with it! Great Covid Christmas this will be. I just wish they would communicate with me.

"Can someone advise of what my possible…"
Can someone advise of what my possible next of action should be?
I took a loan of £7000 from amigo.
Duration was for 48 months and £299.46 per month.
Totalling £14373.64 to be paid at the end of the 48th month.
Thats £7373.64 of intrest.
Loan was paid to me on the 25th Nov 2016.
I requested that the first and all subsequent monthly payment be shifted to the 16th of each month.
At the end of the 48th month, amigo be now tells me that I owe a further 3 months of payments ie £898.29 on account of the fact that I initially did change my payment date from the 25th to the 16th.
Effectivley amigo is saying that for shifting my payment date forward for 22 days will now cost me £898.
This I consider to be very unfair, considering that the laon itself attracted £7373 of intrest and now a further £898 just for changing a payment date.
Making a total of £8270 worth of intrest for a £7000 loan.
I am seeking for help an how to deal with this very unfortunate sitiuation.
