"carer, Egham Caremark TW20 HN High Street"

I am carer. I was working with company about
2 months. Clients complain, that there is no account to pay money for there service, you run with clients bank check. Very confusing company, changes every day, you cannot follow what you are doing, where you are going. Sometimes arrived 2 carers by same client, changes in rota constantly, its does a stress for client and for carers, about your availability even don't ask, just put clients in your rota, you cannot plan anything in your daily day. Finally I cannot carry with confusion and daily stress and decide to left company. My payslip I cannot open, send wrong password. Salary should be end of month on Friday, didn't pay in bank account, on phone 3 people from office with Shazia director including promise to pay money in account on Sunday, still no money in bank account, excuses that there is issue with P45, that I didn't get uniform back in office. I am now in holidays, I cannot do.
I send email for them, that I will get uniform after holidays. In my 11 years expereriece in care system
I never have something like this. I don't wish anybody go throw this stress, what I am going try. Thanks God I left this company.
I hope my experience will help new carers.

"Neglect"

We had a 2hr sit booked for my mum. She is 92 years of age. The Carer arrived a little late but had called to let us know. The sit consists of 100% attention to my mums requirements and observations. The meal for lunch I had already prepared and given to her. I Explained all bullet points with carer and said I shall put out washing before I leave. I left Carer with mum. I then told her I was leaving and left.
Approx 1 hr later I saw mum make her own way to toilet with trolley and then onto bedroom with no sign of Carer. I became worried and decided to go back to mum's. On Arrival I found no Carer in the house my husband came through kitchen and found Carer sat on my sunlounger chilling and chatting socialy on her mobile soaking up the rays. When she was asked where mum was Carer replies she was in there meaning the lounge. My husband found dinner plate dumped on worktop side and a cup of tea partly drunk with tea leaves floating in it. The burst tea bag was steewn on the side of the sink. We asked Carer to gather her things and to leave. Afterwards we found her phone charger plugged in a wall socket in the kitchen. We then saw her blue surgical type gloves thrown on the floor in the middle of the Close.
This behaviour is unacceptable and in my professional opinion constitutes Proffesional neglect.

"I applied for a job at Caremark…"

I applied for a job at Caremark absolutely horrendous attitude although they offered me the job and gave me a starting date they rang me 3 days before told me my references didn’t come back therefore they were going to withdraw the application bare in mind they told me that my DBS had to come back in order for me to start which took 3 weeks and they only waited 3 days for the references and I was left wondering how they could do this. I asked to speak to the director DOMINICA TORDI and was told by the manager NAJMA she didn’t want to speak to me and that she wouldn’t change her mind horrible horrible attitude extremely unprofessional and they told me this was normal!!
How can you offer someone a job give them a starting date and then withdraw the application…

"Caremark Ealing"

Caremark Ealing . This company should not be allowed to look after vulnerable people. They put our family through so much stress. If I could I would not give even one star. Management it’s absolutely incompetent, can not manage rota, staff always late, don’t know where to arrive to, have no induction. They promised to give us consistency with the staff but never delivered. It was absolutely awful and heart breaking. Please don’t allow these people to look after your loved one.

"Awful company to work for"

I used to work for this company but had to leave within two months because of how poorly run it was.

There was no proper training for the staff just a quick run down of the basic health and safety, first aid, care values; very vague and not in enough detail. It was so basic that non of the staff I worked with felt confident enough to go on the field and when we would phone the head office for assistance, we either got someone on the other end of the phone saying "I can't help you because I don't know what to do" or someone who sounded frustrated and annoyed that we even dared to ask for help, when the whole point of an on call service is to provide assistance.

The management treat there workers like robots and have no consideration for their staffs mental and physical well-being. Once, another care worker who works with this company said they had her working over 120 hrs in one week!! I was constantly ringing them up to remind them that I can't do anymore than 30hrs in a week, but they kept putting me on 48 nearly 50 hrs a week! I had to phone them to remind them that they had put me on way too much hours, again, and I was met with an extremely sarcastic and rude woman from the office on the other end of the phone, and I could hear all management team in the background laughing along with her. I felt very underappreciated and disgusted at that moment seen as I was helping them out as they took on too many clients than they had the capacity to do so. I was originally ment to work around 20hrs a week but felt pressured into increasing it to 30 to help them out a bit but that still wasn't good enough for them.

They'll have you working full days without any adequate breaks. I had to be at my first call for around 7 in the morning and wasn't done until around 11:30 in the evening and didn't have a proper break because of all the calls they pile onto you as they are short staffed, but continue to take on more and more clients. There was one time I was on a double up round and the coordinator decided to chuck in 4 extra single calls for us each (which ment 8 extra calls) and we didn't get done until 12:30 in the morning! And that was with some calls that we demanded to have taken off, one of which was an hour! We was working all day and didn't have chance to have a break at all! And my colleague had to do an early morning start the next day after doing 3 full days in a row!!

If you're new to the company, they'll pair you up (on the double up rounds) with another new carer- who has probably never worked in care before, and then you both don't have a clue what you're doing and end up being hours late to calls because of the inexperience and the poor training.

They will also have to travelling for miles and miles and don't keep the calls in the same area, without giving you anytime to get there (they would give me a call in one end of town and I had to travel around 7 miles to get to my next call and they gave me 5 minutes to get there). It got so bad that I had to spend hundreds of pounds getting my car repaired because of all the wear and tear. Also, they'll barley give you one full rest in a week, which is illegal, but when they finally do, they'll harass you to do overtime like you haven't got a life outside of working for them.

The rotas are constantly changing at last minute which is confusing and you're turning up at client's homes, and another carer had already been because no-one let you know that the call was cancelled. It makes the company look poorly run and it's a waist of time, petrol and energy.

I could go on and on about this company and how dreadful it is to work for them, but I'll be here for ever. A lot of clients and their families commented on how poorly run the company is.
I would not recommend this company to anyone who is looking for someone to care for their loved ones or anyone who is looking for a job in this kind of field.

I am so relieved to be out of there and working for another company. What ever the circumstance, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
