"Do not use this bank especially for a home loan"
We had to jump home loans from CIT to another mortgage broker 24 days into escrow. I will pick 3 of 25 things to mention: the appraisal was 18 days "in review," we were 8 days past the loan contingency release, and the loan officer (on some sort of power trip) kept adding unnecessary conditions to the underwriter's file. We were treated like trash. And this is our bank!! The difference at the 2nd mortgage company: From the first documents we sent to closing was 21 days - including the very thorough appraisal back in one (1) business day. CIT was unprofessional, disorganized, and added no less than 20 conditions, half of which were ridiculous. At the 2nd mortgage co., we were given what felt like VIP treatment, and quick efficient service that I cannot say enough about. They asked for 2 additional conditions - from the Underwriter only - which we provided immediately and we were approved. We are moving into our new home as we speak no thanks to CIT. I plan to write to the branch directly about this horrid experience. We plan to move all of our money out of CIT as soon as we are settled in our new home.
Update: It's interesting how they have a canned response to every single complaint and how we are supposed to contact them through Facebook messenger. Continues to say a lot about how much they do not value their customers.

"Won’t Close Account"
I opened a savings account years ago when my son was a minor. I am the custodian. Last winter they contacted me and said we had to close the account. I asked them how. They said send a letter saying we wanted to close the account so I did. Then they said it had to be notarized so this summer when my son was home from college, we both went to my local bank where they know me. and got a letter notarized that we both signed. Then I got an email saying they wanted to verify my identity and to call them. So I did and answered all their questions. Then I received an email saying I needed to call again. So I called and they now say they want an acknowledgement letter from the notary. I asked if they had the form but they said no. I called the notary and she has no idea what it is and neither do I. At this point I think they are just trying to keep my son’s money. Ive never heard of jumping through such hoops to close an account they asked us to close.

"I would much rather give this company…"
I would much rather give this company NO stars but that’s not an option. When covid hit and my company was shut down for not being an essential company, I was offered a three month deferral. I was told that the three months would be added to the end of the lease and it would be a small fee for the deferral. Unfortunately, I took this company on their word to me and did not check into the fee they would be charging me. Four months later, my lease payment goes up over $90 a month. I asked if this would be the new payment for the rest of the lease period (18 more months) and they said I would be paying this new higher payment. This is a ridiculous fee to be charging a company that just dealt with COVID and being forced to shut down for three months. This company is unethical. I am in the process of a complaint into the attorney generals office and I’m paying for my attorney to fight this ridiculousness. DO NOT USE this bank for any equipment leases. They tell you one thing but find a way to stick it to you any way they can

"On May 18 I wrote a letter asking for a…"
On May 18 I wrote a letter asking for a check for a
CD with a maturity date of June 2, 2021. CIT had all types of conditions that I had to meet before I would receive the proceeds of the CD. On May 25th I received
a letter from CIT that stated I must call CIT within 10 business days
.and if I did not call they will cancel my request for a check at maturity. I did call and the representative tried to convince me to renew the CD at 0.30% . After much dialog he agreed and said that I would receive the check within 7 or so days. It is now about 18 days still no check

"Horrible lack of attention and customer service"
I am looking at new equipment for my business. I was misled by their fancy infographic and had to reach out to find out why I hadn't received any information about my inquiry. I was then told we had great credit but they aren't lending because of my "retail" code but another sister company could help and they need permission to run it through them. After that, I was then told it would be nearly twice as much to lease the equipment, with no early payoffs etc. All they would tell me was the payment amount for five years (nearly twice the amount of the equipment) After going back and forth they said they didn't know our business was older than two years and if we provide tax documents they can try to get us a different deal with yet another bank. The lack of desire to do what was best for me and my business speaks volumes. I don't have time for games, I need someone who is going to do what's best for me and not waste my time.
