"Don't Be Fooled By Cit Bank's Introductory Rates!"
I've been a customer of Cit Bank for several years. I was lured in by their high yield savings rate, which immediately dropped to a deplorable amount.
I immediately planned to cancel the account, but every time I called to cancel, the wait time was so long that I gave up. At first, I blamed the lack of customer support on COVID. Now it's clear that the bank literally doesn't care about their customers at all.
I finally set time aside to close out this account. Now that interest rates on high-yield savings accounts have gone higher, most of my other banks are up to 3.6+%. Cit Bank is still under 1%. Ridiculous! I waited for a very long time to talk to a customer service rep. When I told them I wanted to close my account, they said I'd have to speak to another rep. They said, "let me put you on a brief hold." The "brief hold" is over 30 minutes so far in addition to the abysmally long hold I was already on to speak to customer service rep #1.
So basically, I'm unable to close my account without spending hours of my day trying to get through to someone.
Unlike other banks, there's no way to close the account online. There's no way to email customer service or chat with customer service online. You're trapped. Don't do it! I've never had a worse experience with a bank, and I regret the day that I opened this account.

"This bank took over 45 days to let me…"
This bank took over 45 days to let me that they were going to pay the vendors. This only happens after I sent an email out that I was not going to need the loan any longer. They went ahead and pay the vendors. Northern Tool being one of those vendors. And since September they can not provide me with an statement showing me what am I being charge for. Be careful with people like drew Gaberseck from CIT this person will not return calls, and he will not answer calls. After instructing northern Tool not to provide any type of information to me in particular. After months of trying to communicate with them to get a simple statement about the charges they claimed. I still do not have it.

"Cannot speak with a human at CIT"
Cannot speak with a human at CIT. Called in several times and wait time was over 45 minutes. They say leave a number and they will call back in order received. Did that about two weeks ago, a week ago, and yesterday, and so far no return calls.

"Cit bank won’t let you access your CD online."
I’ve now been on hold with Cit bank for a total of 52 minutes. They will not let me access the funds in my “no penalty” CD without talking to someone. A human answered the phone about 25 minutes ago and said they needed to transfer me to someone in their “CD division.” If this is online banking, why can’t I access my account without talking with someone? Cit bank’s customer service is the worst I’ve ever encountered with a financial institution. You’d think they would care about someone with 40k in a CD, but they’ve made it clear they don’t. If I ever get to speak to customer service, I’m withdrawing my money and RUNNING away from CIT.
I would advise anyone reading this to avoid putting any money on this bank, and stay clear of their CDs. Yes, they have a relatively good interest rate right now, but so do a lot of other banks that actually care.
(Since it took me approximately 8 minutes to write this up, I’ve now been on hold for an hour and guess what? Customer service is closed.)

"Actually the loan or lease procedure…"
Actually the loan or lease procedure was not bad. However, I put up some land as collateral and the lease was paid off in 2017. Georgia code requires them to release the lien within 60 days of payoff. It’s 2022 and they still have not released the lien. I have called and emailed every day and I get nowhere. . No one seems to know what to do. My theory is nobody cares
because the money has already changed hands. Terrible service. They can contact me at 678-873-5785 if they want to actually get it squared away.
Update edit : 3 days later and still no response from your “Team”
I have done all the legwork for them and sent the paperwork 3 times to no avail.
3rd update edit. 2 more days and no one from your “fabulous team” has contacted me
You have a lien on my property. You have 60 days after payoff to remove it. It’s been over 5 years. This is called “Slander of Title” in the legal world. If this is not resolved by Monday I will lose the sale if this land and will be looking for damages due to your negligence and refusal to do your job.
Sunday edit: Zero contact with your great team. Sounds like a last place team to me. How do you win any games ?
Update : Team has never called. You have a lien on my property. I paid it off in 2017. You have 60 days to remove a lien after payoff.
I dont owe you any money. You admit that. .I have a full pay off letter. But yet, you still don’t react. Unbelievable bad service and ignorance.

"HORRIBLE SERVICE"
This is the most horrible banking experience I have ever had. They have the WORST customer service. You can call and wait for up to 2 hours to speak to a banking rep. They also give you an option to place your call on hold for a call back of which they then ask you to leave a message. They hold your funds without interest for over 10 days. You will question if your money is actually safe and in an account or not. It is the most sketchy experience of my life in banking. DO NOT do business with them.

"Unethical Mindset"
I don't write reviews, but because of the unethical way CIT does business I felt obligated to. I had a lease with them for a computer and laptop. I was set up for auto-pay and had a set fee each month. They would charge my account extra fee with no alert and this would give me a late fee. Sometimes the extra fee would be twice the payment and would overdraft my account. They would then send me a late fee the next month. The extra fee would be property tax. which I was never alerted of in advance.
Then with 3 payments left, they gave me a payoff that was just about what I had paid the past 3 years.
Do Not do business with this Company! Theirs 2 ways to do business, one is ethical and the other is unethical. CIT is and unethical company that only see their advantage of making money off their customer by any rational reason to them. Then tells you read their contract as a justification of their practices Think before doing business with them, there are company out here that are in the business of good business. Do your research.
