"Inhumane treatment to our little dog"
Our little dog got her tail caught in the hall door on Saturday afternoon (hall door slammed as back door was opened 😢). Poor dog yelped & pee’d herself with fright. Immediately we brought her to our local vet, whom we’re registered with & are on a monthly pet plan. The tail was split, bleeding & bone was visible. We arrived to the vets at 5.06pm, unaware they close at 5pm. The closed sign was up but one of the vets & veterinary nurse were at the front desk, i gestured to ask them to come to the door. Myself & my husband stood at the glass door where they could clearly see me holding our little dog in my arms covered in a blanket & loosing blood. The vet came to the door, opened it slightly & told me they were closed. I pointed to Mollys tail & explained what had happened & again she told me they were closed, I pleaded with her to have a quick look at her & she point blank refused using the excuse that they’re computers were switched off & that they were already running late to finish up. This particular vet knew us as our dog has attended her several times but this time it was as clear as day that she didn’t care less & just wanted to get home. I understand that she had done a full days work & was probably tired and that she has a life outside her job but there was zero compassion or care. When we pleaded again for help, she told us to contact another branch of their practice in Clonsilla that were opened until 6pm. She assured us that they would definitely see us if we were there before 6pm. So we left….without anyone looking at her wound, assessing it or giving her any pain relief. On the way to clonsilla I phoned them to confirm that they would see her as advised by the Shantalla Road Branch but unfortunately I was told no that they had to be out by 6pm, I explained that the branch on Shantalla Road had told us if we get there before 6pm that she would be seen but I was told that’s not the case. The receptionist checked it with someone else and said no that they would be locking up at 6pm so they wouldn’t have time to do an X-ray, when I asked for advice on where to go, she advised me to go to UCD veterinary hospital which we did. In UCD at first they thought the tail was broken or nerve endings were damaged & would require amputation but luckily for Molly this wasn’t the case. Her tail was split on both sides, so they sedated her and stitched her up. She’s now on antibiotics, anti inflammatories & pain killers but is doing well.
I have since contacted Village Vets and have cancelled our contract with them. I understand we were 6 minutes outside of their closing time but I cannot understand how people who are supposed to care about animals can simply ignore an injured animal in front of them without even looking at or accessing them, completely inhumane. Mollys tail was in a very bad way, the cut was so deep the bone was visible (up to this I didn’t realise that the tail had a bone, I actually thought it was just cartilage).
We have since moved to a lovely, caring independent vets instead of supporting these chains that only care about the money and not care.
There’s been a couple to times over the last 2years while attending village vet’s beaumont that haven’t sat well me, such as stories I’ve heard from other people and things I’ve overheard while in there but I chose to ignore them. My advice to anyone is if when it comes to your pets if something doesn’t sit well with you with your vets, then jump ship because to a lot of these chains & franchises it’s just a business with their priorities being money first & care of the animal being way down the list

"Couldn't have asked for better care…"
Couldn't have asked for better care when my chihuahua was admitted with breathing difficulties. She ended up staying for 3 days and I was informed of her progress every step of the way. They even liaised with my pet insurance company which put my mind at ease. Thanks to Dr Helen, Jade, and all of the wonderful team.

"An amazing veterinary practice"
An amazing veterinary practice - incredibly friendly, professional and knowledgeable. All the staff have always gone above and beyond to provide an excellent service My 10 year old dog has had a very difficult few years with complex issues and they have always treated him, and me, with kindness and understanding. They have always discussed the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis with detail and empathy. He has had many operations under their care.
He has now made a full recovery and is back bouncing!
I cannot recommend the whole team highly enough.
Thank you to you all.

"Never would I refer this practice "
Very expensive and in my opinion just a complete ripoff taking into consideration the area. Attended this practice a few times and have never felt assured. Charged appropriately two grand to remove a few teeth. Found a private practice who found my pet had cancer so could not have the teeth removed and charged me after the fact not before. Also the cost quoted was a whole £1200 LESS.

"I would have given 6 stars if I could "
I recently had the privilege of experiencing the outstanding service provided by the dedicated staff at our local vet clinic, and I am compelled to share my exceptional experience. From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism, setting the tone for a truly remarkable visit.
First and foremost, the staff demonstrated unparalleled expertise and proficiency in their field. Every member of the team, from the receptionists to the veterinarians, exhibited a deep understanding
of animal care and a genuine passion for their work. Their knowledge was evident in every interaction, as they provided thorough explanations and tailored recommendations specific to my pet's needs.
What truly set this clinic apart, however, was the level of compassion and empathy displayed by each staff member. They understood that our pets are not just animals but cherished members of our
families, and they treated them as such. Whether it was a routine check-up or a more serious medical concern, they approached each situation with sensitivity and understanding, easing both my pet's anxieties and my own.
Moreover, the staff went above and beyond to ensure that both my pet and I felt comfortable and cared for throughout our visit. They took the time to address all of my questions and concerns, never
making me feel rushed or insignificant. Their genuine concern for the well-being of my pet was palpable, creating a sense of trust and reassurance that is invaluable when it comes to veterinary care.
In addition to their exceptional medical care, the staff also excelled in their communication and organization. Appointment scheduling was seamless, wait times were minimal, and all necessary paperwork
and follow-up instructions were provided promptly and clearly. It was evident that the staff valued efficiency without compromising the quality of care they provided.
Overall, my experience at our vet clinic was nothing short of exceptional, thanks to the outstanding staff who tirelessly work to ensure the health and happiness of our furry companions. Their combination
of expertise, compassion, and professionalism sets a standard of excellence that is truly commendable. I am grateful to have such a dedicated team caring for my pet, and I wholeheartedly recommend their services to anyone seeking top-notch veterinary care.
Finally, I would just like to personally thank Jodie for her efficiency and support through this process!
Wishing the team all the best for the future.

"Our nearly 12 year old Cocker Spaniel admitted in a critical condition"
Our nearly 12 year old Cocker Spaniel was admitted at 2am Saturday morning in an extremely critical condition and we did not think he would survive.
He is home now and on the mend due to the dedication, quick thinking, love and compassion shown to him and us over the weekend.
Nothing was too much trouble, reassurance was given by phone and in person at various times of the day and night.
We have everything to thank them for from the nurses to the dedicated vets Becky and Vanessa.

"I was very disappointed the way this…"
I was very disappointed the way this clinic handled my pets last few seconds of life. I have actually made a formal complaint. However, I would like to leave this review here so that anyone with a dying pet makes sure they specify how they would want them to handle it with kindness and loving care( which was not what we got).

"Poor The village vet seems to have problems…"
The village vet seems to have problems with keeping good vets there have been some in the past but our last experience was poor and the vet seemed unable to take in our concern, very unsatisfactory . They also did not respond to our subsequent complaint.

"Thanx to the staff and vets helping me…"
Thanx to the staff and vets helping me with my reactive dog and understanding how difficult and isolating it can be. They allowed me to wait in the car and call me when vet was ready they also let me through the side door to put as little stress as possible for my dog and I.
