"Not to be trusted"

Very unhappy with the service I received at Village Vet Winchmore Hill. My cat went in for teeth clean and possible extractions at the back of her mouth. While she was under anaesthetic the vet rang and said the back teeth were fine but suggested removing her upper canines at the front as they were chipped and posed potential infection. Under pressure, I agreed, but my cat now gets her lip caught where the canines used to be and looks like Elvis. When I pointed this out to the Village Vet, it was suggested that it could improve over time (it hasn't), or we could get the bottom canines removed aswell (2 healthy teeth) to alleviate the problem. What?!! A few days after the operation my cat was not responding well to the pain killer/anti-inflammatory prescribed so I was told to come in and get alternative medicine. The vet prescribed paracetamol which thankfully my cat mostly spat up. Two days later I had a phone call from one of the vets telling me she shouldn't have prescribed that medicine and could I bring in my cat for emergency blood tests to check her kidney function. Thankfully my cat was ok but when I checked on Google it said that penicillin is poisonous to cats! When I asked the vet why she had prescribed penicillin, she said she had no excuse and could only apologise! I wouldn't use Village Vet again - I don't trust them and their prices are extortionate.

"The BEST vets in the world"

The BEST vets in the world! Kerriann who is the lead veterinary nurse there is absolutely wonderful. My dog is very anxious and was petrified of the vets. Since finding this practice, for the first time in his life he now runs in to see Kerriann. I cannot thank her enough, we have had the biggest welcome and expert advice. Nothing is too much trouble for her. We need more people in the world like Kerriann with her can do attitude. Can’t rate this practice highly enough as a result, we are so lucky to have found it

"Wonderful practice and outstanding care…"

Wonderful practice and outstanding care given by Rebecca. We had to make a difficult decision as our adored family cat, Rose, 151/2 yrs old, suddenly lost her sight and various complications resulted in our having to let her go. Rebecca was supportive and sensitive to us all as such a horrid time.

"Other, better vets are available"

Village Vet don’t keep accurate records of consultations or if they do they don’t file them in a manner which is accessible for their vets. This is a problem as they seem to be staffed by locum practitioners. They always deploy the nuclear option first as part of their diagnostic procedures so use them only when you have thousands of pounds laying around looking for a new home. The experience is almost guaranteed to be painful and pointlessly expensive.

"Unbelievable service"

Unbelievable service. I called today to check my dog vaccines as it wasn't clear when she needs to have the next one. The receptionist is completely useless. Actually, usually wouldn’t even describe her.

"Village Vet in Regents Park Road - great Vet caring practice…"

Village Vet in Regents Park Road Finchley N3 - such a lovely practice with a really caring and professional VET and receptionist. Munchie our cat has been so well cared for on his visits and the advice and care has been fantastic. It is only 2 minutes walk from our home and such a great service compared to MediVet and Pets At Home. We took out a care plan with them and have found it really useful.

"The worst first and second experience I…"

The worst first and second experience I could have imagined. I would have never come back to this clinic if our puppy didn't need a second dose of vaccine.
First time I have booked our appointment online, stated which vaccine is required as I was told that the Village Vet stocks it, confirmed all of the details, filled up the registration form for our puppy and for myself, arrived to the clinic where I was told that they do not have all of our details on their system but Dr. Charlotte has seen us and she was good HOWEVER I was only told that they do not have a required vaccine before the actual injection. We were given a different vaccine made by the same company but incompatible with the one which he had before which meant that we were not able to take him out for at least another two weeks..... No one has contacted me before the appointment or advised that the vaccine is not available, and no one has offered to call another clinic to find out if they have the required vaccine, so we have agreed to the procedure. We have booked another appointment straight away for 18th November.
Today I left home well in advance (at 16.00), but traffic was heavy, so I have called the clinic at 17.12 to say that I am running late and person who has answered the phone has advised that this is not a problem and that she'll let the clinic know. I have called again at 17.32 (I have proof ) to say that I am 300 meters away just parking up and was also told that this is fine. I have arrived at the clinic at 17.37 (paid for the parking when I was already in the clinic at 17.38). Kirstin who has greeted me at the reception said that since I am late my appointment will be cancelled as I was more than 5 minutes late. When I have protested, she said that she will ask the vet if she will be happy to see us and few minutes later, she has emerged from the treatment room saying that she will not see us. I have tried to explain that we live miles away, it took me 1 hour 32 minutes to get to Chiswick due to the traffic but she kept saying that there is nothing she can do as this is their protocol and that even if she has seen messages from the person that I have spoken to (Kirstin apparently did not see them as the vet which should have seen us had to see another pet which had an emergency) she would not be able to help as every appointment has only 15 minutes allocation so since I was more than 5 minutes late I cannot be seen.
I have asked if any other clinics are open today for which I was told that Hampton clinic is working 24/7, so I have asked if Kirstin could call them to find out if they would accept us for the out of hours vaccination appointment, but she has refused to help saying that she cannot do that for me. When I have asked her to note done her name on the piece of paper, she said that she is not going to do that either as if I need, I can memorise her name, which I found extremely rude.
Eventually vet who has refused to see us and another client (the one who had emergency) came out of the treatment room at 17.47 which meant that if we have arrived on time vet's previous appointment would overrun and we would have to wait. Dr. Rania (the one who has refused to see us), asked what happened, spent another 5 minutes explaining to me why they cannot see me and why I was wrong, and they were right, instead of helping us to get the vaccination done, which only takes two minutes) and avoid an additional trip to Chiswick on Sunday which was offered as an alternative.
I was extremely upset for poor puppy, hugely disappointed with the level of service and outraged, as I do not believe that this treatment is acceptable, and I do not believe that pets or people should be treated in such way if clinic truly cares about its clients, which they obviously do not.
Today's visit just made me feel like they did not care and I honestly do not understand why they are working in the veterinary clinic if they are not passionate about what they do and are not willing to help. I do not recommend the Village Vet clinic to anyone .

"Kerri-Ann and Rania at 75 Masbro road…"

Kerri-Ann and Rania at 75 Masbro road London W14 branch is the most amazing vet for exotics and small furries. They are compassionate, caring and a genuinely talented vet.

I recommend people around the area to use this branch as they treat your pet with special care and the love they deserve. They understand how special the pet is towards their owner in difficult times. Well done ladies, keep it up.
