"Behind the times"

I made a payment, it got returned... NOT one notification from either pennymac or chase, only realized when I seen the money still sitting in the account. Customer service is poor...said to call my bank, Pennymac web site does not actually show updated info and shows payment was made, phone is the same, says payment was "effective", hard to even find an e-mail... feels like a mom and pop shop, since you cannot not speak to anybody after hours.

Jamie and his team at Pennymac were wonderful through the loan process. We haved Pennymac for the last 5 mortgages over the couse of many years. We won't use anyone else. They are that good.

"Most of the experience was great"

Most of the experience was great. Latrice and Ashlee kept me informed each step of the way. The only real issue came at closing. We opted to do the closing at home. When closing time arrived no Notary, after an hour no call still no notary then an hour later we get a call from a different Notary. She was great, made time to do our closing that night and drove 2 hours to help us close. Over all, was a pretty good experience, just a couple hiccups.

"Find a better mortgage company"

I have a 2-family house, lost a tenant, and fell behind on two mortgage payments and this company immediately sent an "inspector" to my property who decided the property was vacant just because he saw the 1st floor empty and broke my locks. When he saw someone on the second floor disappeared leaving everything behind. I even thought someone was trying to break into my house. Called customer service and the lady who helped me blamed it on me because I was late on my payment and denied reimbursement for damages. By law a mortgage company can't change locks on an occupied property even if such property is on foreclosure. I will be changing mortgage company soon.

If you mortgage your house through PennyMac be prepared for very rude customer service representatives 80% of the time if you ever need to call.

"Quick, easy, and painless loan process…"

Pennymac made the entire loan process easy and understandable. We were kept up to date with the entire process. It was quick and painless. Even the notary came right to the house.

"Called customer service three times…"

Called customer service three times before I received the correct response regarding a letter from them. All three calls were out sourced to call centers out of the US. The first call she had me on hold for twenty minutes then magically our call got disconnected. The second representative put me on hold as well and gave me the wrong information. When I told him that he was wrong and he misunderstood my question he wanted to put me on hold again. I declined and said have a good day. The third rep tried to put me on hold and I was so frustrated at this point I asked to be transferred to a US office because I think language barrier was an issue (not in a disrespectful way). She insisted that she help so of course she puts me on hold for about five minutes, but surprisingly three times a charm. She was able to explain the letter and answer my question. All three reps were nice. I just don’t understand why would you put a customer through that process. If you don’t understand, transfer the damn call. I also think customers should have the option to have the call transferred.
