"Roses were shipped days before we had a…"
Roses were shipped days before we had a major freeze so they couldn't be planted right away. Not sure how many will survive the delay in planting.

They always represent theirselves very well with their product we have over 300 roses and the majority are David Austin roses and they perform very well at our home we will always buy David Austin roses and recommend them we are in the process of expanding our yard and adding probably another 100 roses to our landscape

"Inferior Product, Poor Customer Service"
For a family-owned, British company famous for supplying all the palaces and public gardens, they certainly have a way of showing contempt towards any customer who is not a royal. I thought I was purchasing from a reliable, trusted brand and instead, it's like I'm dealing with Kardashian levels of incompetence.
Their products are just the absolute worst. The roses I've received from their US site (Texas) are of staggeringly poor quality. They arrive with broken stems, withered leaves full of disease and pots brimming with pests. It doesn't matter what experience level of gardening you have or if you live in the best climate ever, the roses from this David Austin branch simply do not thrive. They are of horrendous quality and at $50 per quart or root, it is nothing short of an egregious scam.
The customer service has also been a major disappointment. Slow to respond, unhelpful, and willing to engage in deception. Instead of working towards a speedy, straightforward resolution or acknowledging something didn't go well, they will do anything and everything to avoid processing a refund, even more so when the customer has sufficient grounds.
Do not ever purchase from David Austin-US. Local nurseries and other competitors are likely to have healthier, better stocks of David Austin roses than this terrible Texan greenhouse they are selling from.
Oct 2024 EDIT: Milly, I'm willing to discuss and connect with you about this separately but my review reflects the experience I had.

"Buyer beware"
Buyer beware, I will never buy from this company again. Well over a year ago I bought an Anne Boleyn rose. When it came time for it to be shipped I was told it was unavailable and they were sending me something else. They charged me again for a rose I didn't want. They "apologized" and did nothing about it. That rose never grew. They sent a replacement again which never grew. I'm still without my Anne Boleyn and $78.00 for a stick in the ground. I'm done.

"Undesireable Traits"
I feel bad enough about 1 of 2 expensive roses that I purchased from the D.A. website to write up a review.
The rose is called 'The Generous Gardener'. It is pretty poorly named since the blooms last but 1.5 days on the bush, and less than 1 day as a cut rose. These facts have been verified by multiple other growers on Facebook.
If I had known these things, I would have chosen a different cultivar. I WISH the website would state this type of thing in the description.
In any case, the plant ordered Dec '23 arrived in perfect shape at the promised time (3/14/24), and put out a first flower within 5 weeks.
It is true I cannot get hold of customer Chat service when I have a question - seems my awake time is never the same as their open hours... but Facebook D.A. groups abound, with many experienced helpers.
I will probably buy a D.A. rose again, but before purchasing directly @ $50 I will look for less expensive prices at other garden centers and websites.

"Warranty doesn’t work"
We have purchased David Austin roses several times in the past 13 years. We bought the roses bare root. For the first time, one didn’t bloom back this spring. We talked with customer service and filed a claim, but we haven’t receive the reimbursement. It has been a month. We will not buy again from this place unless we receive it.

"David Austin roses "
Ordered 5 bareroot climbing roses all arrived very healthy. Planted them mid March. Now in mid may there are blooms on 2 of them and 4 out of 5 have buds.... one was attacked by a deer. Very happy... I have multiple david Austin roses and in 15 years they have received much praise for their beautiful blooms and healthy plants...
Update .... all 5 plants have bloomed continously since mid may...
