David Austin Roses USA

"They couldn't have cared less..."
I had placed orders for bare root roses, understanding the look. I then was informed a rose I really wanted was in stock as a full plant so I paid the additional cost and and I saw another full rose that looked lovely so I ordered that too. When they arrived I was shocked by the appearance. One rose was with leaves, stems and buds. However the eagerly awaited rose was like a bare root rose. I called customer care to complain and they could not have cared less, even when I said they had lost me as a customer in future.

"I echo what other people are saying-…..."
I echo what other people are saying- the worst customer service ever. No way to get in touch, no response to voice mail, no roses. Now they are telling me part of my order is not going to be shipped. It's almost May and where are my roses? Never again David Austin.

"If I could give this company 0 stars I…..."
If I could give this company 0 stars I would. I ordered two roses back in July of 2020. I received an email March 19th that my roses would be delivered April 9th 2021. When they didn’t show up by April 21st I sent an email. I received several Corona etc. automated emails. Finally, today I received a response. A ridiculous one at that. The rose I ordered didn’t meet their “grading procedure” and I could wait until 2022 or get a refund. Totally ridiculous. I requested a refund and if I don’t receive one within a week I’ll contact my credit card company.

"do not order from David Austin roses..."
do not order from David Austin roses. Like others have reported, they use Corona as an excuse for not responding in a timely manner. I ordered a white climbing rose (built an arbor and was ready to plant) and was sent a floribunda rose pink. When I placed the order the website said the rose was in stock. I was not given any opportunity to say no i can't use a floribunda, i need a climbing white rose. No opportunity to say just cancel that order. It just showed up, thrown in a plastic bag with dirt all over the box and packing literature. I immediately contacted them and asked for a refund or the correct rose and it took 2 weeks for them to contact me and they said they could send me a rose in March 2022 as it's no longer planting season. I took the advice of another reviewer and reported this to the ftc.gov
I would never order from this company davidaustinroses.com again. I have purchased many plants online and never dealt with a company like this.

"Brilliant service!..."
In the autumn of 2020 I bought 10 bare root climbing roses from David Austin. Now, Spring 2021 9 of them are shooting beautifully but sadly one of them didn't survive the Winter. 9 out of 10 is pretty good but I thought I'd just ask David Austin if they did replacements and Liam came back to me offering me a choice from three highly scented climbers and my chosen one has now been dispatched. It's easy to see why David Austin is the UK's top rose nursery.
Well done to them and my choice for more roses in the future.

"Money taken but no customer service..."
I think that this is the 1st 1 star review I have ever written. I purposely chose a bare root rose that was in stock as I needed to take delivery and get the roses in the ground before it gets too hot (I live in Las Vegas).
As mentioned in many (far too many) posts, there is absolutely no customer service.
I appreciate that we are all going through a global pandemic but since day 1 of the pandemic I have taken my customers telephone calls and responded to emails. Some of my shipments to my customers have been delayed; however, I worked with my customers and kept them 100% updated. This total lack of service, other than immediately taking my money, is incredibly poor and I would definitely not recommend using this company.
I am now at the stage of looking for a full refund, but unsure how to do this as they don`t answer their phones or respond to emails (other than an automated response saying that they're behind because if COVID).
They should never have accepted my order if they weren`t able to meet it within a reasonable time.

"Rose mosaic virus infected..."
I have a DA 'Huntington Rose' and it's infected with rose mosaic virus. The downside of buying commercially-grafted roses. Never again.

"100% non-responsive..."
100% non-responsive. It is getting late to plant.
Their US roses are grown in Texas which is completely open.
Their own site says:"Bred in England. Grown in the USA."
The fact that the UK is shut down should not affect US orders.
Something does not add up. They don't respond to any type of attempt to communicate.
Even their TX number: 903-526-1800 will not accept calls.
I'm considering contacting our state attorney general.
The Federal Trade Commission has a site for complaints. If enough of us complain they may reach out to the company and get someone to respond.
Search for: fair trade commission complaint and it will take you there.

"No response whatsoever to my many…..."
No response whatsoever to my many emails. They never indicated when my order would arrive. Almost too late to plant now. They have had plenty of time since I ordered. Never again. Contemplating asking for a refund.

"I ordered seven rose bushes from them…..."
I ordered seven rose bushes from them the first week in January. I received an email that they would short staffed and would receive the roses late Feb. It is now March 22 and I still have not received them. They readily took my money knowing they couldn't deliver on time, yet did not make this known at purchase. I sent an email today requesting a full refund. We'll see.
