Very pleased with this company,dealt with engine gasket leak very efficiently under warranty last year with no quibble. Routine servicing good and includes MOT,very helpful.

"Something really not right here"

Something really not right here. Looked at a car for £6k, final price with a hard sell on warranty plus an “admin fee” of £200 to sell one of their own cars (?) came in closer to £8k. Told that there was only one key and we could buy a second for £200 but we could see 2 keys in the package. The second key was taken outside to “see if it fitted the car” when it came back part of the fob was missing and apparently the key would not be able to turn over the engine - so back to another £200 on top if we wanted a spare key. Quoted £900 for a warranty but when we hesitated that came down to £800. Overall we were not comfortable with the situation and left. We then checked online and the same model/year elsewhere was coming in at a substantially lower cost. A double check on “we buy any car” valued the car we had looked at as £3.5k. We accept that WBAC would be looking to sell at a profit but seriously doubting they could get the £6k asking price we were looking at.

Thanks to McCarthy Cars for their response. It does not address all the concerns but I appreciate the offer to effectively waive £400 on top of the £100 discount offered on the warranty. We will not however be purchasing the car - your bottom line should be your bottom line and not subject to pseudo “discounts”.

I bought a car from McCarthy Cars recently. I was impressed with the service carried out on the car including replacing tyres, and making sure the car was in excellent condition. There was always someone at the end of a phone even after I received the car checking all was ok. I felt really looked after by them and am very happy with the vehicle.

All of the reception staff are so lovely always informative and prompt Our car is always booked for service and MOT which is carried out to the highest standard and also very prompt! We are informed on everything and we have just renewed another 3 years for our service and MOT very happy customers👍🏼
