"Paid $502.85 for a dishwasher repair"

Paid $502.85 for a dishwasher repair, technician removed parts and told me I could buy them on Amazon and fix it myself. Dishwasher was worse then when I called, cancelled the appointment to look at the work and repair properly!
Should have checked before hand, "F" rating on BBB site!

"Company Should Be Shut Down"

Their service technician Raji was at my home at 266 Primrose Lane Newmarket, Ontario on July 23, 2024 to diagnose my dryer as it was starting but shutting down the very next second. Raji spent less than 1 hour at my home took the dryer completely apart and proceeded to say that it was a Control Board which would cost me another $465.23 plus tax. He left my home and charged me as a senior $327.70 for labor charges (their bill is attached). I ended up having a Maytag service technician come in to assess. He turned the machine on and immediately said it was the motor and blower. He did not have to take the machine apart to diagnose the problem and said their was nothing wrong with the Control Board (Maytag's report is attached along with picture of old parts they replaced). Obviously their service technician did not properly diagnose the problem and took apart the dryer when he didn't have to and charged us a ridiculous amount of money. I find this totally unacceptable and we are therefore requesting a full refund of all monies paid relating to this service call. I have contacted the company and was told that they received my request and would get back to me. To date I have not received any response. This company has many many negative reviews. They do not tell you up front what their labor charges are. They only tell you that they charge $80.00 to come out and look at this problem. I find this unacceptable and feel that we as seniors have been taken advantage of. This company should not be allowed to still be in business.

"An absolute brutally unethical…"

An absolute brutally unethical experience. They charged me over $900.00 over a period of almost 1 month to fix our washing machine. In the end, they walked away saying it wasn't worth putting any more money into. It still wasn't working and we were out over $900.00!
In an effort to soften the blow the repairman claimed I would be receiving a rebate on the parts but not the labor and I should wait an hour before calling the head office. I waited an hour and a half and called. I spoke to manager and she said they had no such policy and the repairman was not authorized to state that rebate would be in play. Case closed. Out over $900.00 and a broken machine to still show for it!

It has been 9 weeks and I still do not have my over payment refund of $337.60 to my 80 year husband Mel who has bone cancer Calling every second day we get its in priority , or the owner needs to sign it at month end , or it will be mailed in 24 hours Nothing gets sent out. Its a small amount but its our money We are on a small pension and have serious medical bills How can the owner treat and torture another Judeo Christian human being this way The staff is polit but tey can do nothing. I guess they need the job yet they see the injustice her May 28th to now August 9th is well over 9 weeks Sel told today me it may be another 2 weeks , BBB has been notified The company even leaked my CC information out and amount to be refunded and I was subject to a interac phishing scam yesterday Interac is investigating Its illegal for Reliable to hold CC information
All I want is my money back. There are hundreds of people scammed for money from these crooks CBC did an article in 2019 with BBB yet how are they allowed to continue cbc.ca /news/canada/kitchener-waterloo/better-business-bureau-warning-residents-repairman-scam-

"SCAM COMPANY - DO NOT USE"

I called this company to diagnose the washer at my tenant's apartment. Clearly I did not read any reviews before I called them - big mistake! A technician (?) came and said it needed a new control board which would cost $962 incl tax - debit or etransfer. I said ok, paid for the part. He came back a week or two later to install it and then the company immediately called me to collect the remainder. My tenant hadn't had the chance to run a load and confirm that it works but said technician was confident that it was fixed. Next day, the washer does not work - technician had told my tenant that they have a no questions policy (what does even mean??). I called the company, they sent the same technician which now told me that I needed yet another part which would cost $650 - at this point I lost all trust in this company and told them that it sounds like they misdiagnosed the problem - they got very defensive and would not offer any solution. I ended up buying a new washer as the old one was 8yo (I should had done this in the first place !!!!). I will report them to the Better Business Bureau and will file a police report as well. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!

"BEWARE !!!"

BEWARE: This happened in Oshawa, but they have many locations across the GTA. This is possibly a criminal enterprise. I called them to repair a dryer. Initially they said they would charge $80 for a tech to inspect the appliance and if I proceeded with the repair, they would credit the $80. When they arrived, they said it needed a control panel and the total repair charge would be $992 including tax. Since I was busy and the dryer was just over the one-year-old mark, I decided to go ahead with the repair and not buy a new one. They said they would not take credit cards only debit or e-transfer before they did any work. I paid them. Then they came back and said it also needed a display panel for another $600. At that point I knew this was a scam. I told them since they didn't replace the parts yet, just refund the parts and keep the inspection payment. They said they didn't give refunds and would not come back unless I paid the additional $600. I told them, No. I then called a reputable repair company (North Durham Appliance Repair) in my area, and they charged $130 for parts, labour and tax. I decided to file a police report against The A Team Appliance Repair. In doing so the police took the report and said, the reason they only accepted e-transfer is because the credit card companies had caught on to the fraud and banded them from accepting credit cards. The police also said not to push this any further as they believe this is an organized crime ring. They have multiple locations, have been reported multiple times, have terrible reviews, the news media has investigated them, and they are still in business. Small claims court is my next step. Don't get caught up in this costly scam. Warn others and read all their reviews. These people are thieves and will destroy vulnerable people’s lives.

"DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY"

I hired this company to ensure that my subzero fridge was working well. The technician did do that but said it needed a new water filter which he didn't have but could send to me, He also said not to buy the ones that Amazon sells, but to use the real Subzero filter. He charged me $335 for the part and said it would ship in 3 weeks. After 4 weeks, I called to find out where my part was and after several emails and conversations about why the part could not be sent ( Fed ex and UPS accounts were not working, etc), I asked for them to cancel the order and refund my money. After 5 weeks, the part was delivered to my building, and it was the same brand that I could have purchased off Amazon for $46
I called them to complain that it was not a Subzero part ( I checked with Subzero and their filter for my fridge was $75) I was given a run around about the parts not being from Amazon and perfectly suited to my fridge.
Again I asked for a refund and that I'd send them back these no name brand filters. I was told to call back on Tuesday. This company is a scam. DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!!!!!

This company should not be allowed to operate in Canada. I called them to fix a dishwasher and they basically robbed me. They pretended to put in a part and proceeded to charge me $500 for it. When asked about the part they refuse to tell me the part number. They are crooks! Complete joke and the techs have no idea what they are doing. It’s all a big scam operation.

I paid over $800 to have my dryer repaired, and this experience was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. They promised the job would be completed within a week, but a month later, I was still waiting. They demanded payment upfront and then had the audacity to ignore my calls and fail to update me when they repeatedly no-showed. I had to chase them down continuously for updates, only to hear the same excuse about delayed parts. Their customer service was infuriatingly terrible—hanging up on me during crucial conversations and showing complete disregard for my time.

The technician assessed the damage in just 15 minutes and quoted me over $800, claiming that I needed a whole new kit repaired when all I needed was a simple belt replacement. They blatantly took advantage of my situation and tried to upsell unnecessary repairs. To make matters worse, they gaslit me by falsely claiming that the technician had completed the job when no one had actually visited. The constant fear that I had been scammed left me extremely frustrated and enraged.

I usually don’t leave reviews, even for jobs not done well. But this company’s abysmal service and deceitful practices have pushed me to leave my first-ever review. I hope sharing my experience helps save others from wasting their time and money on this nightmare of a company. They are a complete scam, and I strongly advise against using their services.
