I booked my flight through flysharp (well, it was an Etihad flight, and on skyscanner) but flysharp were the company that processed the booking. The first few times my payment didn’t go through, eventually it worked, and I suddenly realised I’d put “Jon” instead of “Jonathan” on my booking.
I thought this would be ok because I had not yet submitted my passport number etc, so I wrote to customer service saying “please can my name appear as Jonathan not Jon” immediately afterwards.
After multiple phone calls, and emails, I am being told that I must either pay “£250 for a name change” or pay “£260 to cancel the flight”
I find this a real shame given that Etihad explicately state that they dont charge for a name change if its done quickly after the booking.
I am now in a position that i really dont know what to do, it seems like Flysharp are just trying to make money out of ripping people off like this.

The person who helped me his name is Keith and he was very calm and professional when I discussed my query as I by mistake messed up with my ticket booking and my ticket was non changeable and non refundable however he found a way and he amend my booking with minimal fees

"Mis-leading flexi ticket, it’s cost me thousands to change my flight."
I booked and paid £7000 to Fly Sharp in July 2024 to fly from LHR to Phuket, business class. ( 2 x business 1 x economy). My enquiry when booking the flights were to ensure the flights were flexible, as they were likely to change. My understanding was I paid an additional £400 per person, to get the flexi ticket.
We left the UK 10/10 as planned. A few weeks in, as predicted, we wanted to change the return dates of our flights.
Fly sharp have advised a change fee and fare difference of £2800 pp and even £3000 pp. meaning to change a flight time home, that I’ve already paid for, would cost the same to change go return.
Fly Sharp claim this is the airlines charges and the differences in fares, which can’t be true as I was finding the same flights, thousands cheaper online.
Fly sharp have also advised that my flexi ticket only applies for 4 months?! Which they are refusing to send me any t&c’s on.
Fly sharp have not been helpful in the slightest, their t&c’s don’t reflect what they offer.
They won’t allow a name change for my husband to utilise the flight.
They are refusing to send any detailed t&c’s on the flexi ticket that I paid additionally for.
We have had to forfeit the return flights and buy new flights home. It has cost thousands.
Fly sharp have stopped replying to me and do not have an acceptable companies escalation.
I will never use Fly Sharp and will be perusing their actions through UK consumer law channels.
