Update: Made sure i contacted place where i signed up for Just Energy. Was told that Just Energy has done the same thing to other customer. BEWARE OF JUST ENERGY.
Signed up for Just Energy, they are currently charging 4 more cents a kilowatt than PECO. When i tried to cancel, they said they would lower my rate which would still be higher than PECO. The representatives lied to me when i signed up. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. You will have nothing but aggravation.

worst focking energy company i’ve dealt with. surprise fees and all. either unclear or rude customer service agents. don’t go w this company. they’ll screw you over. wish i could give zero stars. literally had to ask for a new agent(s). beyond unhelpful. just save your time and money and go w enmax.

ORGINAL REVIEW:
I have used Just Energy for a couple years with no major problems. However, this last month, my cost per kwh was unexpectedly hiked from 8-9 cents to an absurd 27 cents. My December bill was therefore more than TRIPLED to over $500, which was a great surprise for the Christmas season. When I called, they were no help at all, claiming my contract has expired, I had been warned about this, and 27 cents is the going variable rate. This is FALSE. I was never contacted about this.

UPDATE:
Well, after raising a fuss on this website, I was contacted immediately by a helpful manager, the problem was sorted out, and a refund was given to my satisfaction in a timely manner. I have updated my score accordingly. Just Energy could benefit from a better entry-level customer service experience; I shouldn't have had to elevate my concerns so high to fix a simple computer error.

"BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE"
Just energy is NOT a company I signed up with. A while back my bill was switched over to them and my granddaughter straightened it out and had them removed. Fast forward to today,awhile and low and behold they are back on my account. Not only that my bill is double what it usually is every year at this time. Looks like I will be reporting to BBB and looking into a fraud case.
Update: So I called BGE my hometown supplier and was informed that I was never originally cancelled and have been being USED since 2014. So I call Just Energy and tell them about it and that I'd like them to please remove me and revert back to my old/local company. The guy then proceeds to ask me what they are charging me...I told him its none of his business and that I wouldn't stay with their company on principle alone. I was misled, cancelled, then lied to, never was cancelled and now I'm left with a huge bill. Anytime I hear someone mention Just Energy you better believe I will be telling them about my expierence. I also think I'm going to call the PSC.

"Scammed into signing with the scammers"
I got scammed into signing up with Just Energy at Samsclub. The guy told me that nothing on the bill will change. My bill will either be lower or same as Consumers energy. The supplier (Just Energy) charge ended up three times more than the Consumers Energy. Take my advice, and never change your gas service from your current company specially with Just Energy. Customer service surprised with high cost and tried to sell me lower over the phone. Why wouldn't you set your rate to lower in first place? Customer service is no HELP!

Worst customer service I have received in my entire life. Cancelled my plan with them after six days because I wasn’t getting an email at all after confirming my email 4 times. Somehow I got billed 50 dollars for six days of service and the ladies I talked to were rude! RUNNNNN

"Just Energy = Fraud + Cheating"
Just Energy is Just a Fraud and Cheating. I signed up inside Sams Club and they claimed that they are offering this service with the collaboration of Sams Club. The Just Energy sales lady clearly gave me 6 cents per KW rate and she said it doesn't matter how much is your usage you will never go over 7 Cents per KW. AND now my first bill is $88.00 for the usage of 617 KW which means I am paying more than 14 cents per KW!!! What is this? If this is not a cheating then what else is FRAUD AND CHEATING!!! SHAME ON YOU JUST ENERGY
Update: Customer Service rep called me and she offered me comparatively better rates for 6 months which I declined because still rates were higher than what originally promised. So they promised that they will not apply any charges for breaking the contract and I can switch to any other company. They also promised me for $25 credit on my existing billing statement. So let's see how it goes.

Run for yours lives. This company is laced with endless pitfalls and decrepit business practices. Armed with proof from my billing history, I called the customer service line to obtain clarity on a miscellanies charge that I needed corrected on my bill. IN ANY OF THE PAST BUSINESS PRACTICES I HAVE MADE WITH ANYONE TO THIS POINT I HAVE NEVER FELT SO DISRESPECTED IN MY LIFE. Proof in hand, I have now spent well over 30 hours over the last dew days trying to get someone to acknowledge the mistake in my bill. To my surprise I was actually able to get a "escalation team manager" to acknowledge that what I was stating was correct. If you though I was pissed before here comes the best part. After acknowledging that I was right and agreeing that the adjusted payment that I made was correct he informed me that a team member would be in contact with me to discuss what all had happened. Cool. I go about my business, to only find that they have sent me an email stating that they have been urgently trying to call me about my bill and are going to disconnect me on the 19th. Know let me add some context. I am a 25 year old male who is very active on social media and constantly on my phone. IF THEY WOULD HAVE CALLED I WOULD HAVE SAW IT! But I digress. I call customer service for them to lead me on another 3 day 40 hours long goose chase of being placed on hold hang up on and being forced to call back. After repeatedly calling, I some how am able to come in contact with the representative who acknowledge that there was a mistake. After another 2 hours on the phone, we finally were able to agree to have my bill adjusted and your probably thinking case closed problem solved and I live happily ever after. WRONG!!!!!!!! They have the audacity to give me partial credit as if I cant back track through my bills and find the mistake my self! At this point, they are straight up calling me stupid to my face and basically are leaving me with the ultimatum of not paying and them selling my debt to collect, or canceling and receiving a 200$ early termination fee plus the disputed amount. I tell you this much if you want to sleep good a night, do not go looking through your just energy bill statements because there is no unseeing the damage they have done. Also if your reading this and thinking about adding there service beware of the of the free nights and lowest rates based on your area illusion. They are only trying to bribe you into signing a lengthy contact to initially charge you low rates increasing them to ridiculous amount. They are preying on you not paying on time so that they can charge you DNP and disconnection fees. Also beware of the flat rate scam as well. If your not on auto pay your bill will never be under 300$. Also when speaking with customer service after they screw up your bill immediately as to speak with the escalation management team to help resolve your issue because the lower levels are there just to stall. Granted it also depends on who you speak too, there are only about 5 of them so keep calling back until you get someone who is competent enough to understand the problem and can at least not contradict them selfs as much in their lies. I would say around the 4th day of calling you will begin to hear the uncertainty and shame in their voices as they aimlessly try and make since of how they are going to justify wrongdoing in seamlessly placing a family in such a situation during COVID. Like we already dot have enough to deal with. But again I digress. I hope all the representatives read this that work for this company and remember that there is this such thing as karma.

The reply from the Just Energy is a fraudulent attempt at saving face. I call the customer service number as instructed with no answer. They have yet to correct inaccurate information on my account.

"Misled"
We signed up for Just Energy about 6 months ago at a SAMS Club and honestly up to this point, we have been very unsatisfied with the rate that we are being charged. We've contacted Customer Service and unfortunately they've been of no help. When we originally signed up we understood that because we were signing up at a SAMS Club that we weren't under contract, and that we would have free electricity from 9pm-6am. So far neither of which have been true. If I misunderstood something, I invite Just Energy to contact me.
