I WAS A GUARANTOR. THEY CHECKED TO MAKE SURE I COULD MEET MY OBLIGATIONS. EVERYTHING WAS FULLY EXPLAINED. YES, HIGH INTEREST, BUT WHAT DOES ONE EXPECT WHEN NO-ONE ELSE WILL LEND! IT GOT MY FRIEND OUT OF A HOLE. A COUPLE OF WOBBLES BUT DID NOT RECEIVE ANY THREATS OF LEGAL ACTION, ONLY HELPFULNESS AND COURTESY. ALL IN ALL - 1ST CLASS!

Biggest loans sharks had 10.000 load payed 350 a month for 3 yrs took put another loan to pay them off and still cost me 11.000 to settle . Government should look in to this company. KEEP WELL CLEAR

"The worst company!!"

The worst company!!! Interest rates are ridiculous (50% what you borrow) they aim to get people in debt (which is why they allow anyone to get a loan). They harrass you non stop and are not reasonable at all with their solutions (if you miss your payment date by even one day their sending letters, calling you, texting, emailing and making threats of legal action & also your guarantor will also receive all of this) also if your on any kind of debt plan paying them off if the debting agency doesn’t pay them on the exact payment date or if the payments processing you will also receive calls,texts, threats of legal action etc. If you need a loan I’d strongly suggest else where.

"Avoid, Avoid, Avoid!"

If you can, please avoid this company. They prey on people who already have trouble getting credit and how do they help? They charge nearly 50% interest! I was a guarantor for someone, for the first few payments out of £286, approx £240 was interest, how can that be helpful to people? I tried to renegotiate the interest percentage, to be told a flat no...
I firmly believe (although Amigo employees I spoke to on the phone dispute this) that the interest rate has a part to play in the company being in the trouble it is now.
In the end I took out another loan at a more reasonable rate to get this dreadful company out of our lives.
An interest rate that high should be made illegal.
Amigo Management (not the staff on the phone, it's not their fault, they are just doing their jobs) deserve to be in the position they are now. Greed got them there...

AMIGO LOANS ARE A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF IRRESPONSIBLE LENDERS!

My loan was approved January 2014 unbelievably...

Amigo Loans never checked a single thing when I made my application, all I had to do was talk on the phone and all they wanted was a valid guarantor...
They did not care about my terrible credit rating...
They did not ask to see factual evidence of my earnings, spending habits, wage slips, bank statements, NOTHING...
They were happy to loan money to a severe gambling addict and to make matters worse, my guarantor was equally bad with gambling and still is to this date...
This would have been so blatantly obvious, if they had just asked to see financial affordability, bank statements etc... for both of us...

The banks, they check everything and look at everything when applying for a loan unlike these rogue lenders...

I have registered a complaint directly and will be taking them to court, if it is not dealt with...

I have already had to use the ombudsman service to get them to remove false information they deliberately placed on my credit file...

Please vote against the new scheme. This company have proven to be dishonest, unethical and the people in charge are some of the most disgusting corrupt people in Britain.

This company needs insolvency they will not honour your valid complaint and are only interested in the profit they might still have a chance at making.

Make your complaint heard in court and don’t hold back on showing the tactics they use to bully you when you can’t make the payment on a loan you shouldn’t have been given in the first place. Rot in hell amigo

Remember, you can be a witness in the court case (so I understand - find out for yourself) and make an impact statement for the harassment and mental trauma they’ve caused you - I will be!

Debt camel helped me so much. I feel like I’m still traumatised by this horrific company - that claim to be a “new” and improved company?! What a joke.

Amigo, don’t bother asking for further details, you know who I am, and we’re happy to mock, degrade and terrify me as a customer.

They are a horrible lender to deal with, even just acting as a guarantor.

They continually hound both the borrower if a single payment has been missed and then also hound the guarantor. I've never in my entire adult life come across such an aggressive lender who literally couldn't care less.

The borrower went into an IVA, as soon as that happened they were after me the guarantor within minutes of the IVA being granted even though it's been included in the IVA.

I don't want to deal with these people, they're more than happy to sign you up, without the proper affordability checks and then when it all goes up in the air they are the nastiest, horrible, disgusting and despicable company to deal with.

Please please please do not borrow from them, even if they are your last option stay well away from them.

I will be filing an FCA complaint against them.

REPLY TO AMIGO: You have completely disregarded most information in the review which is no surprise, but either way what's done is done and my review will stay as is, I want to make everyone explicitly aware of what kind of company Amigo, a really horrible company who should not be trading.

"Poor communication"

Poor communication, i had raised a complaint a while back regarding the affordability off my loan. Months maybe over a year i still haven't heard anything.

"Terrible Predatory Lender"

Took A guarantor Loan, and missed payments due to health condition. These guys took it to court, and registered a CCJ on my credit file without dully notifying me of the court date? Heartless unrepentant lender. Will never recommend them, and pray they will never get their lending license back. These cowboys have no business in finance, and shouldn't be in the financial services. FCA should protect the public from this predatory lender.
