"Hounding me for a missed payment but…"

Hounding me for a missed payment but unable to log in to the system to pay nor change the due date.... Is it just coincidence that you log into the app close to the payment date to try and change it the app says they don't hold any bank or payment details, leaving you unable to change said date? They then send a text about a letter regarding a missed payment but can't even log in to see that either.....

"Exploiting people they shouldn't lend to in the first place."

Extremely high intrest, lend to people so they can scam them later on. Didn't want any of my financial information when I took out my loan but as soon as I was in financial difficulty they wanted to know the ins and outs of my butt hole. No support whatsoever even though I paid on time and never missed a payment for over a year. They do not give you the correct information when you call for advice, literally sounds like they are all reading from a script. Exploiting people who are in desperate need for cash and then screwing them over later on.

"They are awful!"

They are awful!! I complained after my partner was in a serious accident and on life support. He is now disabled and cannot be used as a guarantor but they ignored me. Said it was not their problem. They are so rude sometimes and not empathetic. They use threatening tactics and have caused me a great deal of stress.

Wouldn’t recommend these to my worst enemies I was a guarantor for my ex wife who stopped paying after she tipped up a £1500 loan I never agreed to so amigo faked a tape with me agreeing to the first and used it for the second they bullied harassed threatened me daily via phone e mail when I contacted them with my wife’s address and phone number to contact her they said they didn’t need because I was liable told them I couldn’t afford the repayments I was living on my own with my 14 year old son they told me not to pay my other bills and focus on the amigo debt and one advisor actually said what type of man can’t pay his debts!!!!!!!! I was flabbergasted I’m glad they are now in trouble and hope they get fined the maximum they can made my life hell for 2 years plus

"Warning: Loan Sharks exploiting the Disabled"

I've been a customer with Amigo since 2018 and I have been so blind, as I thought this was a wonderful company and the staff were all so nice and helpful. This is not the case and I need to warn all existing and potential customers of the dangers of this service.

I suffer from a couple of conditions, confirmed by a legal assessment, one of which is Dyspraxia. This impacts my ability to perceive things, however, I'm sure you'll agree with this review that it is completely misleading and anyone would fall for it.

I took out an initial loan of £1,000 in 2018. I made 9 payments towards this balance, before I was promoted to receive a "top up" of £500, which would update my balance to £1,500. This would increase my payments, due to increased amount borrowed and interest (seems simple enough right?). I then updated my loan again when offered a "top up" to £2,000, again

Ben on the phone referred to my disability as a "frame of mind". Have you ever heard a company say something so thoughtless and upsetting to a vulnerable customer? I also made sure to record my calls, so this is something I will be sharing with the financial ombudsman.

I've received some help with totalling this all up, but I initially asked to borrow £1,000 and was offered 2 "top ups", so I've only borrowed £2,000 from the company since 2018. However, on the phone, and as confirmed by 2 representatives (both recorded), these aren't top ups at all and are in fact "new agreements". When I asked why they offered me as a "top up" when it wasn't, especially when I was disabled, I was told that it was "in the terms and conditions". Why wasn't this offered and why are vulnerable customers being exploited especially?

With that in mind, I've totalled up that I've paid £2,923.27 already (with another payment of £98 due today). So throughout my whole loan, I will have to pay £4,485.04 for my initial £2k loan. I've also made a complaint, but the company is yet to resolve this and they have even denied my claim for Equitable Set-off (something my friends told me about, if you have a loan with them, look into this ASAP!).

Please I beg you to avoid this company, they are nothing but loan sharks and will hide behind their legal jargon and not care about you as a customer whatsoever. Even my disability was called a "frame of mind", do you have any disabled relatives? How would you feel if there disabilities were reduced to a "frame of mind"?

Listen to the negative reviews and let this company go into the ground where it belongs. No business deserves to trade with such exploitation and deception, regardless if you're disabled or not.
