Conny does what it promises. I did nothing except uploading the document and some pictures. After couple of months I got letters from my landlord that my cold rent is being reduced.

"Was soll man sagen"

Was soll man sagen. Conny hat mich vor 3 Jahren in einem Fall vor Gericht vertreten. Der Fall wurde verloren und gemäß den AGB sollte ich keine Kosten als Verbraucher tragen. SOLLTE! Ich erhielt vor 5 Wochen einen vollstreckbaren Titel, da Conny scheinbar bis heute NICHT die Gerichtskosten entgegen des abgeschlossenen Vertrags und der AGB gezahlt hat.
Kann mir vorstellen, dass es einigen anderen Nutzern auch bald so gehen wird. Natürlich meldet sich auch seit 4 Wochen niemand bei mir und ich werde im Regen stehen gelassen. Rückrufe wurden zwar zugesagt, aber ich habe keinen erhalten. E-Mails werden auch gekonnt ignoriert.
Eine Verbraucherschutzbeschwerde wurde bereits eingereicht.

I used Conny.de to negotiate a lower rent for my apartment, and they were successful. My monthly rent is now €175 less, which is a positive outcome. However, I want to share my experience with their commission structure, as it was significantly higher than I initially anticipated, and it's important to understand how it works.

Conny.de did deliver on the promised rent reduction, but the total cost, due to their commission, was substantial. I expected a commission of around €2200, but it ended up being nearly €5000. This difference is due to how the commission is calculated, as detailed in their terms and conditions (AGB). Importantly, I didn't have to pay Conny anything directly; they deducted their entire commission from the money recovered from my landlord.

Here's a breakdown of the commission calculation in my case, based on my understanding of the AGB (specifically section 3.1):

Standard Commission: Conny charges 6 times the monthly rent reduction. In my case, this was €175 x 6 = €1050, plus VAT (Mehrwertsteuer). This part was relatively straightforward.

Retroactive Payments (The Big One): This is where the major cost comes in. Conny's AGB state that they take 100% (including VAT) of all rent payments that were overpaid to the landlord before Conny sent the official notice (Rüge) to the landlord. In my situation, this covered approximately two years of overpaid rent. This clause is what significantly increased the total commission.

Overpaid Security Deposit (Mietkaution): Conny also took the portion of my security deposit (Mietkaution) that I had overpaid to my landlord as part of their overall commission.

While these terms are outlined in the contract (AGB), I believe they are not sufficiently highlighted or explained in a way that makes the potential total cost clear to the average consumer during the sign-up process. The impact of the retroactive payment clause, in particular, was a significant surprise. I was not expecting such a large amount to be deducted, even though it was coming from the landlord's repayment, not my own pocket.

My Advice to Potential Users:

I strongly recommend that anyone considering using Conny.de's services do the following:

Thoroughly Read the AGB: Pay very close attention to section 3.1 ("Vergütungsvereinbarung"), which details the commission structure.

Calculate the Potential Total Commission: Don't just consider the monthly reduction x 6. Factor in the potential retroactive payments. Estimate how much you've already overpaid your rent, as Conny will claim 100% of this from the landlord's repayment.

Understand the Mietkaution Clause: Be aware that any overpaid portion of your security deposit will also be taken as part of the commission, again, deducted directly from the landlord's payment.

Ask Questions: If anything is unclear, contact Conny.de before signing the contract and ask for specific examples and calculations relevant to your situation.

While Conny.de successfully reduced my rent, and I didn't have to transfer any money to them directly, the commission structure, particularly the retroactive payment clause and the inclusion of the overpaid security deposit, greatly reduced the immediate financial benefit. The money was taken directly from what my landlord repaid. The long-term savings will eventually outweigh the commission, but the initial cost was a substantial and unexpected expense, even if it didn't come directly out of my bank account.

They have switched to shady commision structure please stay away. Instead go to a lawyer or tenant association.

Thier new commission structure wants you to pay all the past savings to them meaning if u are staying in a appartment for 5 years and u paid 200€ extra then you pay all 60 months of savings of 200€ to them the good reviews of the are before this Commision structure

For new commission u will pay 200€*60 + 200€*6 + vat for eg in ur case so we are talking about 1000s of euro. Conny is basically now a con man ;)

"Abzocke und Einschüchterung sind…"

Abzocke und Einschüchterung sind Tagesordnung! Dazu werden wirklich wichtige Absprachen nur telefonisch vereinbart, so dass sie zum späteren Zeitpunkt schriftlich von Conny wieder revidiert werden können. Oder man wird im schlimmsten Fall von Conny verklagt.

Wer es wagt, sollte aufpassen, alles schriftlich dokumentieren und Telefonate aufnehmen.

Beim nächsten mal würde ich einen Fachanwalt für solche Angelegenheiten zur Rate ziehen und auf keinen Fall der Massenabfertigung von Conny vertrauen.

"Amazing experience"

Had an easy and nice experience with Conny, we talked everything by email and in English (which is a plus for me) and after 3 or 4 months they not only reduced almost 600 Euros from my rent as I got the retroactive value from the first day of the contract (2/3 stay with Conny, but I was already happy to just had the discount on rent, so it was definitely a plus), thank you Conny for this amazing service!

Meine Wohnung wurde sofort fristlos gekündigt. Der Vermieter hat von Conny.de ohne mein Einverständnis ein Anwaltsschreiben auf meinen Namen bekommen.
Als ich Conny Mitarbeiter damit konfrontieren wollte, haben Sie sich nicht mehr gemeldet. Telefonkontakt ist sowieso nicht möglich. Bitte tut euch einen Gefallen und bleibt von dieser Firma fern.
