"Amazing service at Walton Court Gardens"

I visited Walton Court Gardens and viewed the properties twice before putting in an offer. The Sales Advisor, Adrian Johnson, was really helpful and attentive to both me and family members when we were viewing the property. The experience was really positive. He responded back quickly regarding offers and helped move the process easily. Overall we’re happy with our experience at Walton Court Gardens, which has some beautiful properties in an excellent area.

"Decent houses, but appalling aftercare"

This week sees our first anniversary at Ackender Hill, so a rounded review seems timely. The house is of decent (though not best) build quality, and good design; well insulated and comfortable. Here, some of the trades are obviously poor - kitchen fitters, plumbers, roofers, gardeners are all pretty bad, but others pretty good. This is the luck of the draw, as it depends on the estate.

However, there are some big negatives.
1 The conveyancing lawyers on the Crest side were truly awful, slow and lazy, and had to be chased constantly to prevent the purchase falling through.
2 As reported elsewhere in reviews, the inevitable snagging and defect repair work is appalling. A year in and we are still waiting for two major defects to be sorted. Their call centre often does not answer the phone. Email gets an autoresponder, saying they'll get back in 3 days. They do not. Most are simply ignored, a few get response in an average of about three weeks, and are usually off point, miss things, are too late or simply wrong. A good number of email reports get deleted without being read.They seem unable to keep accurate lists of reported issues, action and follow up, and in our case I have on many occasions had to progress matters with contractors myself. They do not seem to have a ticketing and actioning CRM system.
3 This seems to be corporate culture. Their head of customer service appears to think she is too important to deal with customers. And their complaints procedure has no independent route: you have to complain via the people you are complaining about. Corporate wise monkey behaviour at its worst.
4 Crest on this site are riding roughshod over their planning permission and terms of lease. A year in, we have to put up with incessant, noisy construction traffic and uncontrolled HGVs on residential, occupied streets; it is not unusual to have concrete lorries, HGVs, loaders and dumpers passing up to 100 times a day. There have been a number of dangerous incidents. No speed limits have been imposed. Trucks mounting pavements is common, and the damage is not repaired. Crest have not provided the required parking for site workers, and wildcat parking is not controlled and causes serious nuisance to residents.
There are some signs that Crest is beginning to wake up as a result of resident action. But until they get their post-sale care process in order, they have to get a low score.

Update after reply from Crest Nicholson 17/11/22:

This is a typical, disengenuous, automated response. It is cynical in that it coincides with Crest trying to get Truspilot to take down my review on the alleged grounds that it is not based on genuine experience. I have submitted copious evidence to Trustpilot to verify that is genuine and honest.

This was not a complaint: it was a review. I have not yet submitted my full complaint, as matters are ongoing.

"Very happy with our new house"

Moved in a month ago and no issues - very happy with it. High quality, great design (bathrooms and kitchen in particular and the doors, windows, in-built wardrobe... pretty much everything), good insulation, very well built, better than expected. Thank you!

We have visisted our local Potters Grange site and the staff have gone above an beyond to help us...even the site building manager spared us some time to go over a few queries and to look at how they are built! We are so pleased with our choice and look forward to picking all the interior items with your lovely staff for our new home.
