We are UK expats living in another EU country. We want a genuine EU policy that covers us for worldwide travel but also does not "discriminate" when it comes to claims. We changed to Globelink a year ago, because we had had a difficult claims experience with our previous insurers, Worldwide Travel Insurance Services. Our policy with the previous insurers had been described as EU wide. But when we had to make a cancellation claim, as one of us had been unable to travel due to a medical complaint, we discovered the shortcomings of our previous policy (which was administered from a narrow minded UK English language point of view). We had to get a complex English language medical certificate, which needed to be completed in a formulaic way, by our French doctor who has no English language capability. This was hugely difficult! We have yet to test Globelink on claims, but I challenge the company to confirm that in these circumstances they (unlike our previous insurer) would accept a French language certificate from a French doctor on his own letterhead (the norm in France) rather than requiring the administrative and linguistic impossible in another EU country. Over to you Globelink! If you can say "yes", I can improve my rating. If not, I guess we will be searching for an alternative when we have a claims experience.

As I booked on line I didnt actually speak with anyone so no friction. I did query the cost of the annual policy for over 66 year olds as the preferable 45 days away is only marginally more expensive, and with winter sports insurance included, than the 31 days away one. The reply was that the winter sports inclusion was free but nothing is free in insurance, someone else is paying for this on their insurance.

La società sembra offrire ottimi servizi tra cui la possibilità di assicurare anche malattie pregresse, cosa non da poco visto che la maggioranza non lo fa e molti soffrono di malattie croniche più o meno serie (escluse a priori dal 99% delle compagnie operanti in Italia). Come per tutte le compagnie, l’efficacia del servizio offerto andrebbe testato nel momento in cui si presenta un’urgenza indennizzabile. Ho avuto modo di chiedere chiarimenti via mail e hanno risposto prontamente, pertanto serietà e ottimo servizio prevendita.
