"Rushed and Unhelpful"

After reading other reviews here, I was encouraged and tried MDLIVE for my son. He had returned from a summer camp where they regularly COVID tested and was negative within the last 7 days, but had a horrible cough with green mucus for over 10 days before coming home. The MDLIVE providers seems confused and rushed. She only gave advice to us typical to treat seasonal allergies or the common cold. On video, she never asked to see his throat, nose, etc … I’d say the call lasted less than 5 minutes, with about 50% of the time being basic medical history. After doing nothing for us, she said we should see a doctor in person if things didn’t improve in 3-5 days. This tells me she and/or MDLIVE are unwilling to treat cold and flu cases by telemedicine with anything other than basic self care instructions - if that’s the case the policy should be disclosed up front.

Update:
MDLIVE responded here by saying: “ We're sorry to hear that you had this experience. Our doctors are very cautious about certain symptoms, and when there's a concern, they may to refer you to seek care in person just to be safe - especially for children. Your concern has been escalated to our customer service team, and we hope your son feeling better.”

So, just like my virtual office visit, MDLIVE doesn’t listen and understand the issue before pumping out a scripted response.

Was unable to get in contact with my doctor and unsure to go to ER. Thanks to MDLIVE doctor, was able to go to ER to control blood level and later on get new meds to slowly control it.
