"Capital Repairs is a real find"

Capital Repairs is a real find - an independent shop that provides a good, honest service. Thank you, Dave, for doing your best to find a spare part which wasn't in stock anywhere, and for being honest about the state of our Dyson vacuum cleaner. We'll be happy to recommend Capital (with special advice to ask for Dave!) to anyone.

"Can recommend Capital Repairs"

I had an issue with my Lamona washing machine - the engineer Stuart could find out what the problem was pretty quickly. Once the required spare parts arrived, he replaced them in no time at now. Stuart does know his business and is prepared to go the extra mile to do things perfectly. Thank you!

"Lost for words"

I purchased an added care policy through John Lewis. John Lewis used The Warranty Group for extended warranties.
Our washer/dryer broke over two months ago and still has not been fixed. The Warranty Group uses Capital Repairs for appliances repairs. During the first visit "engineers" from Capital Repairs told that our washer/dryer was 8 years old. Basically they could not read the machine's serial number. I searched the serial number myself and confirmed the machine was made in 2019.
Capital Repairs ordered expensive parts which took two weeks to arrive. The the same "engineers" came and installed the parts but the machine did not work. Then they ordered another part and we waited two more weeks. This time a new engineer visited and said that the machine needs one small part to start working. He promised he will get our washer/dryer working. We waited for two more weeks. Yesterday one of the first engineers arrived only to find out that he was given a wrong part. Capital Repairs have a very peculiar policy re. parts. They do not allow engineers to open boxes with new parts until they arrive at client's premises. Today we phone Capital Repairs and were told that they are waiting for insurer's approval to order the correct part. They do not know whether it was their engineer's mistake who ordered the wrong part or the mistake of the supplier who sent the wrong part.
Stay away from John Lewis extended warranty as it is waste of time and money. Over the nine weeks since our washer/dryer stopped working I have spent around £200 on washing/drying elsewhere and about 20 hours of my time.
Stay away from the Warranty Group and Capital Repairs.

"I received the most apalling customer…"

I received the most apalling customer service from this company. After 4 months I am still unable to get a refund for the parts ordered that they didn't finally use. No one returns my calls and the complaints emails aren't answered. I cannot recommend this company on any level.

"Unfortunately we cannot recommend this repair company"

We contacted capital repairs as our kitchen cooker hood was broken. They attended and after a brief conference call to head office with the engineer, with no examination of the cooker hood, concluded that it was the switch unit that was broken and said they would order the spare part. Although we protested at the call out charge of £168 for only ten minutes attendance, capital repairs pushed strongly for us to pay it and said that when the spare part arrived, they would return and not charge us the fee. Subsequently, we did not hear from Capital repairs unless we chased via phone and e-mail which became burdensome over 6 weeks. After complaining very recently, the latest reply was that the spare part was taking so long to order as they could not identify the spare part number. I told them this was incredulous as I found it in under 2 minutes from a quick google so do not understand why it has taken them 6 weeks to get to the same stage. I also mentioned that it might not even be the part that needs changing as they were only here for 10 minutes on 30.1.23 with no examination of the unit. I suggested a refund of the call out charge or a partial refund in the interest of goodwill as it does not look like the spare part is available at all but I have had no response. I feel like we have been scammed and feel I have no choice but to recommend avoiding this company in the future.
