"No Better Chicken Commitment"

The company has failed to adopt the Better Chicken Commitment. Over 30,000 of co-op members voted at their AGM in May 2023 and the Board has decided to ignore the vote, as if it hadn't happened! What is the point of being a co-operative company, that has high ethics, to ignore the requests of their own members. Disgraceful behaviour. Results do not lie:

If i could i would give 0 Stars, The scam is order online for delivery. They say they pre authorize a additional payments. Be Careful you get charged twice then it takes a long time to get the money back. If you get it back. So if your struggling in this recession you will go over drawn.

"Co-op are not the ethical company they claim to be!"

I have recently discovered investigations regarding the welfare of chickens sold in Co-op stores, these investigations are incredibly disturbing. A company who claims to be a sustainable and democratic retailer whilst continuing to sell these products in their stores should not be trusted at all. Disgraceful.

"1 star because you can’t give no stars"

1 star because you can’t give no stars. Cannot set up membership. Multiple attempts, even had to ignore the fact that I’ve got a membership card already because it didn’t work to pair it with new card. What a waste of time.

"Not as ethical as I once thought"

Not as ethical as I once thought. I only shop and buy my chicken from the Co-op as I was led to believe that they had very high welfare standards for their farms. However recently I saw a BBC documentary about the farms that supply the chicken for the Co-op, the conditions the birds were kept in are the worst I've ever seen, the birds live lives of extreme suffering. I am very disappointed in the Co-op as I expected better from them. They have so far shown no interest in resolving this and shown very poor care for their customers and members. Very disappointed.

We wondered why our bill was £.1.00 more than it should have been ,they failed to tell us it was £ 1.00 to join.they should have given us a pound to join as the produce was overpriced rubbish.out a bag of overpriced oranges 3 were mouldy.

"Rock Hard in Highworth"

Just called the CO-OP in Highworth Wiltshire and bought a pack of 4 jam doughnuts .Date on the packet saying they were produced on Aug 31st and eat by 1st Sept .
They were rock hard , no way were they made today .I have tasted softer rock cakes . I think to baker is putting a false date on the packet , either that or changing the date so they can stay on display .

I always admired Co-op because of its claims to be an ethical, pioneering, and democratic retailer. Unfortunately this year it has come to light that Co-op has some of the worst chicken welfare standards - I saw the investigation in the BBC - and breeds 'Frankenchickens' who live lives of extreme suffering. This is not the company I thought it was. When speaking to Co-op decision-makers and staff, they continue to dismiss the issues and have shown poor customer - and member - care. Disgraceful.

"Mouldy food"

I contacted the Co.Operative chief executive Shirine*dot*Khoury-Haq@co-operative*dot*coop (all one word) and showed pictures of the mouldy food that was delivered to me from Co Operatives. Their executive team contacted me, judging by their response they think its great to give disabled adults and children mouldy food. They have no regard to food safety. Despicable
